I posted a couple of months ago about loosing a Super CQC-8 that I had just purchased. I looked everywhere inside and outside the house. I was hanging some shelves in the living room and my wife said, a knife
must have fallen on the floor. She pointed to my leather recliner and picked the knife up, and handed it to be. I could not believe my eyes. There was my Super CQC-8. She saw just part of it sticking out from under the recliner.

I'd been through that recliner over a dozen times inside and out and never felt or saw anything. All I know is that I am walking on air. The knife had to be under a lot of pressure with my 6 foot 225 lbs. sitting,
rocking and reclining on it for 2 months. The only marks on it are on the G-10 and a small mark on top of the blade. You have to look hard to see them.

Before I lost it.

Thanks. Disbelief is right. I thought about that knife every single day when I lost.

Wow. I've dropped stuff into a couch before and ended up fishing for it with no luck. Congrats on the recovery of the knife.

I thought you would find it. I can picture you watching tv, flicking it open and it falling between the cushions.

Congratulations, man!

I know what a pain in the ass it is to lose a valued knife like that. Even if you replace it, there is always that nagging feeling of loss- which goes far beyond just the monetary value of replacing it.

Congrats on finding your Emerson! Now you can get another one in mint condition that you can keep on your shelf (if you haven't already), and really use this one.

I was real close to buying another one, but I held off. The chair had been moved, turned upside down, cushions removed, that metal frame underneath checked by me and my wife. It appearing on the floor like it did is a real enigma. I'm just glad it's back in my pocket.

I wasn't going to mention this because it's a little strange. Earlier that morning I had fallen asleep on the recliner and was awakened by someone grabbing my knee. I thought it was my wife, but when I opened my eyes no one was there. A dream perhaps, or
"Could it have been the knife gods" ?

I don't think so. They would never give a knife like that back.

Come on, Mossyhorn. Everyone knows that all recliners contain a black hole that makes things disappear until you've given up on finding them. The black hole is installed at the factory and there's nothing you can do about it except wait after you lose something. It seems like the more you want/need something, the longer the black hold in the recliner waits to return it. I've lost everything from keys to cats in my own recliner.
