I recently looked at the new Benchmade 550 HG griptilian with hollow ground blade and round hole and I was very impressed with it. It has all the modern features we expect in a knife and it cuts like a knife should. I used to have the original flat ground grip as well as a ritter grip but this one, I like it the best!

Who's got one?

I had one & it's definitely a best buy. Knife tastes differ of course, but the 550HG has everything you need to get the job done, at a very reasonable price.

I know that I might "cheapen" the weight of my opinion by admitting that the Griptilian series by Benchmade was one of the first "good" knives I ever owned, but I really feel the Griptilian series have everything the common end-user needs in a knife.

Idiot-proof performance in a somewhat attractive package.

I'm looking forward to adding a HG 556 in Yellow to my collection :D

I have the mini grip. It's a yellow 556. I've got enough easy to lose colors, so I got a hard to lose one. It's quickly becoming my favorite EDC. I went with the Drop Poinit. I have a Spyderco Native, if I ever need HG. I'm sure the HG Native will cut at least as well as the Minigrip hollow grind, so I went for the drop point flat grind.

One awesome knife.

Congrats on your full sized grip.

I have a M2 Ritter Griptilian and it really is a do it all folder. I just put up a trade thread because I want some old 440c models for EDC use. I really do not care for 154cm but the Griptilian is an excellent design.

Why not the 154cm? It is an improvement over the good but inferior 440c.....Right?

440c is much easier for me to sharpen. I do not know why but I have trouble getting an edge on 154 cm.

That makes total sense..... I would probably have the same problem... but i just never let it get dull... Just a few swipes on the rods at the end of the week...

I have a Spyderco D'allara: Hollow ground with a hole. I prefer the drop point blade, and am very fond of the D'allara. Before I got it, I just passed over the Grips without any notice. Right after I got it, I suddenly became interested in a BM Grip, I'm just not sure which one I want. I find the s30v Doug Ritter mk1 interesting, but I think Aeromedix is slightly proud of it. I don't know if the s30v should increase the value that much.
