Hello all. I recently discovered a Kershaw knife that I had never given much thought to until I handled one. The story goes like this. I recent ordered my wife a Kershaw Chive in pink and ordered myself a black Shallot. Her knife was going to be suprise to her since she is a nurse and had been using an old swiss army knife I had given her to use at work. She loves knives almost as much as I do and I wanted her to have a clip on knife for the convience factor. When the package arrived I opened it and discovered the company had sent me a pink Leek either by mistake or maybe had been out of the pink Chives and had substituted the Leek. At first I was kinda disappointed thinking she probably wouldn't like the Leek being larger than the Chive but I thought I would give it to her anyway and she what she thought. Well, she loved it! And after playing with it for a while I fell in love with it as well, all but the color of course. I forgot about the Shallot and we both played with the Leek all that afternoon. We must have opened it a hundered times each amazed at how fast the action was! It was quite a bit faster than the Shallot. The blade design is what I really came to like and had in the past thought the Leek's had an unusual and ugly blade style. This style blade is fantastic! It cuts like a razor and has the precise control of a scapel! The overall size of the knife is great as well. Not to big, and not to small. Well I was hooked and probably would have taken it from her and gave her the Shallot if it had not been pink. I ordered myself a silver colored Leek the next day! What do you guys think of the Leek? I know I sure like mine and found my new EDC knife for sure! Thanks for listening to my story and God bless! ,,,VWB.

My Rainbow Leek--always on me since it is so light and slim--and it doesn't scare people. They're more intrigued by the eye popping color than a "scary switchblade."

I've been EDCing one since they came out. My Ti-ZDP Leek hasn't seen as
much pocket time since I've gotten my RAM, but it still makes it into the rotation
more then anything else.

So in short, I love my Leeks!!

Congrats on the pick-up, for you and your wife.

Love Leeks! Check out the CB Leek!

Kentucky wemmen...gotta love em!

Ummm, DV....did the guy ask what you thought about his wife?? NO. He asked about Leeks, and Leeks only. Let's not let that train come off the tracks too soon now, okay?:D

Let's review...

He's from Southeastern Kentucky (I'm guessing Pike County or there abouts), wife loves knives, and I'll bet she's dropped a deer or two in her lifetime, too.

What's not to love? :D

Hey vwb563,
To answer your question, we LOVE Leeks around here!!
Awesome blade shape, big knife in a small package, up to most tasks, and so many to choose from!!;)

Now Brad, I'm NOT saying that there's anything wrong with Kentucky women. I was just trying to stay on topic, you know...knives. Sandy allows you to spend all your time on bladeforums because she thinks you're talking about knives, not hot Kentucky gals:D;)

I like it so much I would like to some time start collecting them, as good an EDC your likely too find!

Your close. I'm from Bell Co. and my wife hasn't shot any deer yet though she does want me to take her deer hunting this year since I"ve been promising her for the last 4 or 5 years that I would. Thanks guys for the responses!,,,VWB.

See there jm? I don't want to say I told you so, BUT I TOLD YOU SO! :D

The reason I know about them hot Kentucky mountain wemmen is that Sandy is one of em! AND she earned top marksman in her ROTC! I've watched her drop a deer on a full run at 150 yards!

I've owned Kershaw AO knives for years, including a Boa, Chive and Scallion, and I too recently "discovered" the Leek. Great knife, took a hundred cycles or so to break the action in, but it is very smooth and quick now. I'll be picking up a couple more varieties of the Leek in the coming weeks and months. (FWIW, I also married a woman from SE KY, she's from the Breathitt/Perry County area).

I have a 75% KY woman myself (moved to KY when she was 7 or 8 from WV)...they know how to make em right in Appalachia...

(I was born in Pikeville, so I might be a bit biased)

My wife has a Scallion, but she saw an Shallot and thats her next pick...

if your Shallot is slower than your Leek...

... you should work on your Shallot!

The Leek is a fantastic knife, I agree. I have the standard model with the red anodized smoked aluminum handles, etc. It's got black body pins from my Shallot now... looks great :)
