I found the long lost Umnumzaan's twin brother !

the better stuff like the umnum will look and feel diffrent up close.

it prboably has better thought out thickenesses, lines, whatever other attirbutes, that make the umnum design 'feel natural' vs. the other one that looks like it made up be a knife. i guess i'm saying teh one in the picture has 'afterthought' written all over it.

does that make sense? :)

Yeah, kinda similar

^^ Boker's got some nice stuff, but there's no way they cooked that up on their own, did they? Seems unlikely that Chris Reeve's knife would have so closely mirrored the aesthetic of the Boker offering.

More likely is that Boker's capitalizing on the popularity of the Umnumzaan, just like Bradley going after the lesser-resourced Sebenza fans.

.
that's just crazy. such a flagrant copy. i'm surprised that a company like boker would ever consider peddling it.

mucho loss of respect.

It's funny that they chose the handle texturing to "coppy", that seems to one of the parts people like the least about the Umnumzaan ?

I know I could happily live with out it and would be right ontop of an Umnum. that had plain Ti handles like the sebs.

You know what they say about imitation being the sincerest form of flattery, but to me it's just a cheesy rip off , like cold steel/ blackjack and Randall. As soon as someone comes up with a saleable idea, SOME FOOL HAS TO HORN IN WITH A CLONE/RIPOFF, Bart1

I know, right? Boker is certainly not in the same league as CRK (barely even in the same sport), but for all that they are still a well-respected company who make some very good knives. Why they'd stoop to a second-rate ripoff like this is beyond me. Besides, it's not even that cheap. For $175 plus shipping, you might as well just get a real Umnum (free UPS from CRK!)

When I first saw it I thought it looked like a remake of the Brend folder they put out several years ago. It does favor the Unumzaan with the handle cuts. Boker is making some very nice stuff. I recently took a chance on one of their high dollar folders and found it to be worth every penny I spent, and more!:D

Here is a link to a picture of a Boker Brend, although a very fancy one, but the lines are the same as the one they put out several years ago.
