I Found This Very Interesting

Awesome article John, I read the whole thing, including the comments after. I was especially curious about the person who witnessed Richtig hitting the blades with a tuning fork, listening for a certain tone to indicate a good temper.

I don't have any decent info on makers to share, sorry.

pretty cool, haven't been able to read all of it yet, hopefully some night time reading after kids get to bed :)

Interesting reading - I will have to spend some time later this evening reading that.

Very cool article. I have seen his knives discussed in Knife World magazine.

Andy, can we use one of your knives for this, mine are ....uh.....busy. I'll bring the leaf spring.

I would put one up, sure.

I saw the viKtim take a lot of abuse and come back for more, so I am confident in John's knifes and his K-Treet.

Ask yourself, when was the last time you heard of someone breaking a JK Handmade Knife?

what do you say John, can you try to do the heat treat/tempering on a 1090 or 1095 steel knife as described by the experts who looked at the richtig knife? Perhaps a comparison of the Richtig reproduction to a K treat JK?

I might be interested in purchasing/commissioning the Richtig Repro. A JK Element 01 vs a Element1095-Richtig. What a great article!

I liked that article. I kept wondering if the "Beard of Knowledge" was going to make an appearance.

Too bad the guy didn't pass on his heat-treat formula...

Great story and thanks for sharing! One thing that I really like about this forum is the sharing of good stories.
