Hi fellas!

I gave away my EDC folder (Benchmade 943) to my brother-in-law.

We were discussing knives the other night and he was telling me how he wanted a better knife to EDC, than his cheapo chinese made cr** of a knife. And... I offered him my BM943, all free.

I am now left with three knives to choose for EDCing. Which one would you pick if you happened to be in my shoes...?

(1) Camillus Quick Action CUDA1 (spear point blade)
(2) DKD W.R. Clark "Destiny" automatic (single edge blade)
(3) Microtech Scarab automatic (single edge blade)

Please help me decide! I am leaning towards #2.

Thanks.

I would have kept the 943 and offered him the CUDA.

Funny thing you say that Ken C. .... he did like the CUDA when I showed it to him, but that was after I had offered him my BM943.

Best wishes,

Buy either the Frame-Lock Sting or the Frame-Lock Spear Point from AG Russell, both are excellent, well made EDC knives. Both are titanium frame locks weighing a mere 2.9 ounces. Blade length is a nice 3 inches, legal in most places. Both are great values for the money as well, I have bought both and need to buy another for myself as they were quickly claimed by nephews...lol. Matter of fact I will need two more as the third nephew seemed slighted when he didn't get one as well...such is life. A Sting for me and a Spear Point for him.

That's a good Rec. from Abs. Take your time. You only have hundreds to choose from! Post what you get.

I would get a Blade-Tech but hell thats what I tell everyone. Of the knives you listed I would probably carry the CUDA because I always thought they were cool.

Choice 1-- Buy a new BM, and a 950 Rift might be a good one.

Choice 2-- Carry the Clark DKD Destiny, just remember to open cautiously among the sheeple.

Do you know who's making these?

They look A LOT like the CUDA Maxx from Camillus. If so, they may not be around much longer.

Why? What are the laws in Greece on that?

The laws are kind of fuzzy... but it also depends on where in Greece one lives. In small towns and villages, people, including the police, don't care.

I have read the law, and with the help of some experts, the interpretation given is that any knife (any size and any method used for opening/closing) is not a weapon unless it is put to bad use by its human carrier.

So, if a judge in a court can't prove/does not have any evidence that you used, say an automatic knife, to harm/injure or threaten someone, it does not constitute an offense.

The law says that, as it is, just sitting there, a knife is not a weapon... it's a knife. Once it is in someone's hands, who has bad intentions and carries these out against someone else (doesn't say anything about ownself), then it ceases, in a way, to be a "knife", and it becomes a weapon.

You see, the judge is only human, he/she doesn't have the power to foresee why someone carries a knife on him/her and since he/she does not have this magical power the carrier cannot be accused of carrying a weapon. I think this is a fair law.

Best wishes,

Edalb

I wish every jurisdiction had laws like that.
Don't ban the object, ban the bad behavior.
