...... and the lack of availability. I bougt a sprint run brown PM 2 off eBay for $179.99 shipped. The dealer seems legit offering 5 knives with not a huge mark up. There are several offered by other sellers at $200+.

I have eBay and PayPal to fall back on if it is a fake, but I am pretty sure it is authentic. I am pretty new to Spyderco but from what I see these sprint runs won't be available again and I paid about $30 more than the big stores charged when they had them. Anyway, I am looking forward to receiving my brown PM 2.

I bought a black/satin off ebay for 155, found them in stock a major online retailer the next day... Needless to say I wasn't thrilled but hopefully I can make my money back on the ebayed one

Great purchase, the brown sprint is the smoothest and has the best f&f out of my nine

The brown S35vn is going for $200 these days huh? *mind blown*

I had a heck of a time selling mine BNIB three months ago for $140, seemed like I had to plead to the one guy who showed interest to buy it lol.

The one I had also was the best example of all my PM2's. All of mine were/are ideal examples mind you, but that one brown I owned was as perfect as can be.

Nice, I want another. Haven't bought one since may. I still love that one but I really would like a brown one. I guess I will have to just keep looking when I get some cash

I have in too; kept hearing all the rave about the PM2, and finally became available at BladeHQ. I'm impressed, it's a great feeling knife, blade is a good shape and I love S30V steel. It came razor sharp out of the box, like my Manix 2 xl did. The lock seems like a liner lock only on the back, can someone enlighten me as to the difference? Anyway, I have a feeling this is going to be my regular EDC for a while. :)

The lock wedges between the blade and the stop pin. The forces are not transmitted along the length of the liner. The forces are transmitted from the blade, through the width of the liner and then to the stop pin. This is only a distance of around 1/4 inch (by my naked eye). Look at it as putting a peice of steel between the teeth of two gears and stopping those gears from turning. It should be a strong system.
I just recently started using the PM2. It is quickly becoming one of my favorites.

I've seen plenty of the brown PM2's going for around $250 on the bay. Insane what people will pay when supply is low.

Okay, a closer look at it and I can see what you're talking about, thanks!

I just received the PM 2 today and I am very pleased with it. I feel the eBay vendor sold it at a fair price given the demand and availability and I am glad to have the brown Sprint run for $180.

i just picked up a brown one this week for 140.00, out of the 4 that i own far and away the smoothest.

a place called edgework knife and supply out of md. i made a bunch of calls and found 3 or 4 of them 140.00 the cheapest. i think another wanted 175.00

A blue/m390 just went for $325 on the exchange, quickly, with seconds even. That's amazing to me. You can get a LOT of others for that price. Not to say it isn't a great knife. I think people need to just realize that these are production knives and will be made in quantity again.

I have the brown sprint and the digi camo satin. They are both great, but that brown one is very smooth. Seems like it was a special sprint run eh? Really nice to play with.
Cheers
