I gave up trying to adjust the blade of my Millie.

I bought a S30V SE Military, and it looked like the perfect knife.

Than one day, the very clever guy here, having nothing better to do at the moment, decided to disassemble the knife.

Well, I could never put it back on again.

There are a lot of blade play.

I searched this forum for help to adjust it, but even having found lots of threads, I just can't do it.

Just to tell you...

I've found that you can adjust the action of the blade with not only the pivot pin, but also the stop pin. A slight adjustment there can make a big difference.

You've probably already done this, but hopefully it helps.

There was a thread a while back (check archives) that had a lengthy "how to" for this very problem. I messed up my old Lil Temp once and the "how to" helped me greatly.

I didn't think the new Military with SV30 had an eccentric pivot. Just the older ones.

I know it's been said that all the S30V generation of Spydercos don't have the eccentric pivot. It's only the 440V models that have it. Sal said that the tolerances on the S30V models has improved to the point where it's not necessary.

Hi Almtiba. I am sorry for your frustration. Building Spyderco knives takes more skill than one might imagine. Knifemakers, like mechanics know things the general population may not.

If you will shoot it back to us, we'll make it like new for you.

I met Sal at the IWA in Nuernberg, Germany.
I showed him my Military, which had scales of different length, and it took me a long time to adjust it, so it would run smoothly.
Sal told me, it was very good.
He offered me to send it in and it would be fixed at no cost. In the end we found another solution: He got me a Gunting Trainer at a very pleasing price to make me up for the problem, and Bram Frank, who happende to be there, immediately showed me some moves and ways to use it, he even signed the box for me.

It is nice, that even the "big boss" of a knifemaking company takos on problems of thehumblest customer. Highest Praise!!!

:D Thank you, Sal!!! :D

A few of the early S30Vs had it.I bought one at balde last year and it did.So try the steps for the eccentric pivot, that may fix it.

I too have one of the few early S30S Millies w/ the ecc. pivot.

I lied !!!!! ;)

I know I told ya I'll give up... :) but I sent my Millie to my gunsmith, to see if he had any ideas and he fixed it !!!

The problem was not the pivot adjustment. He took a look and found out that the base of the blade (where the liner lock engages) was in a suspicious angle (he forced the blade and the liner moved for the side)

He asked if I would allow him to modify that angle and I agreed to that. He did it.

Well, my millie is rock solid again :D !!!

And the problem was not the pivot. It was the liner. Now the Millie is back to my pocket again !!!

Just for you to know....
