I get [IMG] error when I post pictures.

I have posted a picture successfully several times using Imgur. I could not get Photobucket to work (I kept just getting IMG and no picture )

Now when I try to use Imgur I am getting the same IMG like is was with Photobucket.

I had posted pic using the small pic icon, then pasting link into the box labeled for URLs.

What am I doing wrong?
 
With Photobucket, I just paste the IMG link directly into the message. If you use the image button, then you have to paste the direct link.
 
Nope. No luck. So disappointing. I like the new format except I cannot do pictures.

That must be frustrating, and a lot of people are having problems. You are using Photobucket and are on a desktop PC? I'm using Windows 7 (I have no idea if that makes a difference) and am posting pictures the same way I did before the format change. I copy the IMG link, it's the fourth one down on the list of "share this photo" links on the right side of the page next to my picture. Then I copy it directly into my message.

I see something in the upper right corner of the reply window, and if I hover the cursor over it, it says "remove formatting" could it be you don't have an option set properly? I think there's something in settings/preferences regarding using rich text editing, but I haven't wanted to experiment with what that means, since it's working for me right now.
 
It's difficult to troubleshoot without you actually posting an example of what errors you are talking about. Worst case, press the button in the top right corner of the text editor (that looks like a piece of paper) - and post the IMG code there

When I view it in text editor, it looks correct. But only 'IMG' appears.

Ok, I pasted the IMG link from Photobucket into the text editor and it worked. Still not successful from imgur. I am clearly goofing this up but the fact that it worked the first several attempts makes my failure now more maddening.

I am on a iPhone. If I just dump the IMG link from Photobucket into the message it does not work. But to my surprise if I paste the IMG code into the text editor ( as spark described) it does work. I guess it's better than nothing :)

What link are you posting? Does it have 'i.imgur...' at the start, or is it 'imgur.com/a/...' instead? I believe in mobile if you upload a photo to the app and then immediately tap-and-hold the displayed image you'll get the album link, not the image link.

I think you have identified my problem.

It seems to work if open the image after upload and then copy the link. Strange I never had a problem before.
