I did it, I gave my 7 away. It all started the day I received it in trade, and the package was delivered to my parents house instead of mine. My mom gives me a call telling me I had a package, to come pick it up.
As any of you guys know, the wait for a new knife is torture. You constantly check and recheck tracking numbers, you check the mail over and over, you just can't stand it! So when it finally does arrive, youve worked yourself into such a stupor that, you have no choice but to rip into the package at that very moment. Thats exactly what I did.
My dad was standing beside me, and I actually used his Old Timer to get into it. There it was!!!!! My beautiful BK-7!!!! I fell in love at that very moment. What I didn't know though, was that someone else had their eyes on my baby. My dad loved it also.
So for the last few weeks, with the onset of cooler weather, my family and I have been doing some repairs to our family cabin thats remotely snuggled away from civilization On my farm. Weve been repairing leaks, patching and mending steps, doors, and shutters, and weve put on a new tin roof. During the whole process, my 7 had been our user for gathering wood for fires, prepairing food for us all, and any general cutting task we faced. Looking back on it, I can honestly say that my dad done most of the cutting with it.
So last night, as I was visiting with my parents and a few other relatives that had came in, my dad asked me about my 7. He wanted to know who made it, where he could buy one, and what they cost? He said he had to have one just like mine. Now after some thought, I realized that dad wouldn't be able to buy a knife just like mine. My 7 has been stripped, polished, woods scales, and a finger choil cut in, and a nice convex edge. Dad wouldn't be able to buy that from Tomars lol.
I went out to my truck and got the 7 so dad could look it over again. He finally got done looking at it and asked me, can I give you the money to order me one? I paused and thought for a second and said to him, they are giving them away right now for christmas. He was like, surely not, can I get one now? I told him, youve got it in your hands, merry christmas dad.
