I got 2 Zero tolerance knives today from a guy who got these knives and never used them and were never even taken out of the bubble wrap.

I was wondering about how the spring in the works in my ZT0566 vs the ZT0350,I find that the ZT0350 really snaps open and the ZT0566 feels more lazy and doesn't have that same snap and feels like it may not open everytime although it does.
I know the ZT0350 has a bigger and heavier blade then the ZT0566 and they may have used a stronger spring for the ZT0350,what have you guys found do they both snap open at about the strength or does the ZT0566 just have a bit weaker feel to it.

I'll post picks of my knives later on here and of my ZT0560 I got as well off another fellow that was a wall hanger and used not even to cut paper according the guy I got it off of and it looks like there were no signs of wear on it what so ever.

Man do I feel dumb I never even thought to check that and yes it did need to be loosened, the ZT0350 still has a bit more snap but at my ZT0566 feels like it's going to open each time now from now on.

Thanks for the help neverdie36

Does the pivot need to be loosened?

No problem man, anything I can do

I am fairly certain that they have different Speed Safe springs. My brother had a ZT 350 and I had a ZT 750 and they both had an elongated "Z" looking spring, while the ZT 566's (my bro just got one for Christmas) spring was much more squiggly looking. Each operated as they should but the 350 and 750 had more tension while closing than the 566. They also opened a bit stronger as well. All solid knives.

Both the 350 and the 566 make fantastic manual knives.

I'm a little late to the party but a word of caution, do not try to loosen the screws on the scale to take out the torsion bar without opening the knife first. I learned first hand that it will snap and bend your liners :(

My 350 was stiff out of the box and continued to be so after multiple times opening and closing. I loosened and tightened the pivot screw several times...to work it all, similar to cleaning out screw threads, in...then I gave it a bit of BM blue lube and tightened then backed it off just a tad...snaps out like lightning now...

Enjoy your knives...two very nice keepers there

What is BM blue lube and where can you buy it.

Here are a few pics of my first 3 ZT knives,I have a ZT0560 ZT0530 and a ZT0566.
I was wondering if anyone has a ZT0566 the olny thing that seems really different from my other 2 and what I found is that the Pocket clip is not as stiff as the other 2.

The 566 is easier to get in and out of your pocket, if that's what you mean. The smooth steel scale makes it slide easier compared to g10.

I'm curious, why do you like tip down carry?

The clip on the 0566 is just easier to pull away from the frame if that makes anymore sense.
As far as the tip down thing goes don't really know why I just like it tip up.

Really nice set of knives you score!

I don't own a ZT yet.
