When Ed Caffery made Prarie Storm I hesitated when I should not have and Senator got the prize. This time I jumped very quick.

This knife is incredible in every detail and a true work of art, and the sheath is equal in quality to this knife. It feels so good in the hand. Now I need to get a display case nice enough to hold it.

Ed should also teach knife packaging lessons. It would have been impossible for any harm to come to it in transit, even by the postal system.

I have a project working between Ed Caffrey and Gene Osborn that will begin soon, It will be a Great Project, Just wait and see.

Here are a few specifics on the Bowie "Wind Song".
Blade Length: 10 1/4"

Construction: Through tang. San Mai (52100 core with 1084/15N20 damascus overlays) The damascus overlays are a twist pattern that was split down the middle and turned "inside out", then forged to the core.

Fittings: "S" guard and butt cap are hot blued mild steel, with a hammered copper insert in front of the guard, and a copper spacer between the handle material and butt cap. The finishing "nut" is also hot blued mild steel, and there are two nickel silver pins with rounded heads in the butt cap.

Handle: Presentation grade (stabilized) European olive.

Grind: Flat with convex edge

I was unable to get an exact weight, as my scales are currently broken. But my best guess would put it in the 17-18 oz. range.

You are a lucky man Bo!!!! Ed Caffrey is a sensational knife maker!!!! One of the sweetest blades I have ever seen is his ABS Journeyman Smith knife..... As a matter of fact I see that knife every time I turn my computer on!!! Absolutely stunning!!!! He is on my "hot list"..... One of these days!!!! Congratulations again!

Almost forgot..... The Journeyman Smith knife is going to be auctioned off at this years Blade Show...... Maybe I will be able to get my eyes full of it before it is sold and taken off to never, never land.

Gary, it would not hurt to try. I have been Green every since I missed Prarie Storm, Though I try not to. It is not so bad now that I have one.

Hi Senator,
If you ever need a baby sitter for Prarie Storm, Let me know. I promise I would take good care of it.

I have already contacted John Yeackley to build a display case for it. This needs something special. Prarie Storm might look nice sitting in a matching display next to Wind Song. They could keep each other company.

Yup! That would look real purdy next to Prairie Storm on my mantle.

Anytime you want to send it on... LOL

That is a drop-dead gorgeous knife, Bo. You should be proud to own that. I'll be picking up Prairie Storm at Blade. I can't wait! If you'll be there, we'll have to have some pics taken of the knives together.

I will not be able to make Blade show but next time I get back east I might might let you know.

Those Pics sound like a good idea, a family portrait so to speak.
