I went to the BigE today.
That's the Eastern States Exposition to you folks out of the New England US area.
I got some real goodies in the Connecticut building from companies in my home state.
First up a pair of Timex Expedition watches for $20.
(*cough*...thats $80 off MSRP, about $50 off Amazon.com retail...i just checked!!!)
Woohoo, now i can tell time in places were my cellphone doesn't work...such an amazing innovation these wrist watches.
Anyway, most on topic for this forum is a folding saw by a company named Florian.
Crappy product catalog photo:
It's basically a lockback design that locks open and closed. It has a curved 7" carbon steel blade that cuts on the pull. The lady at the booth said the blade is ground slightly thinner toward the spine to make it less likely to bind. The handle is plastic and hard rubber, with a pronounced curve and a bulge at the rear which should aid in pulling.
The quality seems pretty good. I'll do a mini-review after I get a chance to try it out.
