I Got A Hole

Last night was a dandy one. The wind was about 50 miles a hour. The whole house shuck and there was a big bang. I reckon we had two three inches of rain at the same time. I walked out on the screened-end porch and this is what I saw.

My wife had the flashlight and shined it on the deck and saw this big hole in the floor. She jumped back about three feet and said Big Foot been on our porch, his foot went through the porch when he stepped on it. I almost started laughing and told her that a big branch broke off the tree and landed on the deck. :grumpy:

I am just happy that it did not go through the rough of the home. Just want to see if anyone else was disturbed by the big storm that plowed through Indiana last night, or in your state. :yawn:

I've been stranded since yesterday.
Worst flood in more than 20 years.
Right now the water is about 7 inches under my floor level - right at the bottom of the floor joists.
My yard has NEVER been under water, and now it's almost 3 feet.
I've been moving stuff since 3 this morning. Got all of my shop stuff up off the floor and out of cabinets this morning.
Gonna be a looooooooooooong night.

No, but there another one coming in on Thursday and I will be sending that one up to a friend in the New England area. I know IG will love the cold wet rain to go with the hot barbecue he makes. :yawn:

Big winds here on Friday. Lots of trees down throughout the state. We just got power back after 6 days. Generator worked for 5 days. Yesterday sucked. My life revolves around electricity.:grumpy:

I am up in northern Michigan and we have had some crazy weather to. A week ago I had at least a foot and half of snow in my yard and now its gone! 45 in Jan. is not normal. We had some flooding but not as bad as Karls. If that happend here my house would float down the jordan river and I would be sailing south!

Wether's crazy here,too. A week ago we had -12 with -24 wind chill and it's been in the 50's the past few days. NASTY winds yesterday with lots of trees down & power outages. No apparent damage for me so I'm lucky today!!

Prepared the hole in the deck and it looks good. I will need to stain it later on when it gets warmer. The wood deck is 18X34 and Its been a long week here. I just hope that big foot does not come back. I usually notice his presence in the summer and warmer seasons, very unusual for it be out and about in the winner months. :thumbup:

Its cold out side and I am happy to get back in the home. A good warm fire sounds great right now. I am sipping on a great cup of coffee as I type. Hope you all have nice day out there.
