I’ve surprisingly moved on from CRK, which is really strange that I have. But the one model that I have the fondest memories of is my Large PJ Tanto Inkosi.
I’ve owned Umnumzaans in both blade shapes, Sebenzas in all sizes and blade shapes, and Large and Small Inkosis in every blade shape, and for some reason the Tanto Large Inkosi just felt right. Which is pretty ironic to say now, because at the time I wanted to sell it and buy a Large Insingo Inkosi.
The only two drawbacks I had was that #1: it was not really a great food prep knife, although it did the job if you needed it to. The second drawback was that it was not as easy to stop up and sharpen. Although, with Magnacut you will not be needing to do so often, and as long as you do a bit of research you will be just fine sharpening a tanto. It is really an over exaggerated point to say that a tanto is hard to sharpen, it just takes longer because of the two edges.
To add to why I thought the Large Tanto Inkosi is a stand out model. Well the Inkosi is a tank of a knife, and a Tanto is a very strong blade shape. The strongest of the three bladeshapes CRK offers. The secondary tip at the bottom of the tanto is like a wharncliffe’s tip, which makes utility cuts very easy. Largely, in my opinion CRK makes a perfect knife. However, they are a bit boring as far as knives go. Don’t get me wrong, I love the way CRK look, but a tanto really adds some flair to an otherwise plain looking knife.
