Hello all, I got this 560 the other day... Thanks for looking... ITE

I like the older ones like yours that have the vertical wall holes and offset edges.

Very nice example!

Thanks Pack Rat, I remember someone on here was talking about the holes on these 560s... Do you know when they changed them... I have to look at my other to see what I have... Do you have a pic of them next to each other???

Thanks again, ITE

Maybe this one will show the differences in the edges and the hole walls, one vertical and the newer beveled. The older style is also thicker than the newer.

My understanding in a fire at the provider of the older handles put them out of business and someone else made the newer style. Sorry, I don't have all that history.

Thanks Pack Rat, I met a guy that worked there and I got some handles from him... Maybe you remember when I posted them... Here they are again...
Are these old one or the newer ones??? Thanks ITE

It looked to me like Buck merely gave it a satin finish . Its done on a sisal buff . Nice knife . DM

IIRC, Joe Houser once mentioned that Buck 110 blades were finished on a 3M Scotchbrite wheel...Sisal is kinda like rope, right??? Do you have a side-by-side comparison of the Sisal and 3M finishes??? I use a cotton buffing wheel with the white rouge for my stuff; nothing like the Buck satin finishes...more mirror...

I was going to buy the 3M Scotchbrite wheel but it was $34...:D

Seems I do remember that post. Did you ever find a use for those? I didn't remember the Tiny Ti handles.
From the year tang stamps on mine, these would be the newer handles that have the beveled holes.

The 560's are a study in themselves, light gray ones, darker gray, gold crystal, silver crystal, a couple of shades of black, 110 blades in some, and Decaffe's holy one :D.

Always cracks me up when people call a 560 with a 110 blade, a 110. Its the frame that determines what it is, not the blade.

I think these 560s and 186s are Great knives... I need a Silver Crystal one... Now for the handles, I got one set in my 560 Collection and gave one to a friend... I'm still trying to get more... Just waiting for a call...

Thanks, ITE
