I got a nice Birthday gift today!

My wife bought me a Leatherman Freestyle today and I love it. It makes the perfect companion to my Victorinox Fieldmaster. Now I have all the bases loaded. I love the fieldmaster but I wanted pliers and a one handed opening blade. Now I have it all. Good setup. I can carry the Leatherman clipped to my pocket and the fieldmaster on my belt. Not to much weight.

If they did a left handed version of the freestyle I'd have gotten one ages ago. Just as you say it seems to be almost designed to be a companion to a good SAK.

Thanks Gareth, and yes I am left handed also but I guess we lefties have to do what we have to do and make it work. It does make the perfect companion of a swiss blade knife.

I agree with you totally. I carry a Freestyle in one pocket and a Vic Ruby Huntsman Lite in the other. Together, the distribution of weight is less than even a Wave, but you still have all of the tools covered. Works very well!
