Got a phone call from Jim Rodebaugh telling me he won "The ABS Moran Award".A Pretty spiffy Southwestern Bowie, stag handle and drop dead gorgeous.Pics later.

BTW, It belong to yours truly :D :D :D

I whipped by Jim's table a couple of times, and each time that bowie made my head snap around and I made a mental note to take a closer look. That chance didn't come around until after the award had been announced, at which point I could not ge within arms lenght of it. From a just-out-of-reach distance it looked to be one of the finest bowies at the show. clearly I am not alone in holding that opinion. :) You're gonna love it!

You got yourself a great one. I have to say...I went by as many MS and JS tables as I could trying to get an education on forged knives.

Rodebaugh's small hunters with bronze guards were easily one of the best feeling hunters in the hand. I have got to get one of these. Great size and weight and amazing feel.

JT,

Jim made our club knives(B.A.K.C.A) last year and he made that hunter you looked at, with a ladder pattern damascus and curly maple handles.Beautiful hunter and for members a whopping $350.00 with sheath :) (MS hunter, damascus, nice curly maple. You do the math)Made 30+ and then some..After the BAKCA show he asked me if I would mind if he could use that pattern as some of his hunters. No prob.Probably sell a ton I thought. The rest is history.Great feeling in the hand as are ALL of Jim's knives are.
The problem with Jim's knives are if you go by his table and look, there is always something that will catch your eye. Fit and finish with the best of um.
I own three Bowies,a cool fighter, and three of his hunters. They are all fast in the hand.Like I like em.

I was looking at Jim's hunters too. Very tempted because it felt so good in the hand. If there was a carbon version I would have pulled the trigger.

I'll let Jim know.I thought he was going to take a few carbon ones to Blade.Hmmmm
Randy

He might have and I missed them. I only got to see Blade on Friday and Sunday (Saturday I had a business trip). Friday I was running around like a headless chicken scanning as many tables as I could. I only got to Jim's table on Sunday when most things were already gone.

I got a chance to see this award winning bowie. Sweeeeeeeet! Didn't pick it up though, so you'll find zero Danbo prints on her. ;) :D

You did good Reggie.
Thats a heck of an accomplishment with all the talent you were up against.
Congrats

Pics when? :)

Hi ya'll,
I called Point Seven today and they said I would have my CD early next week at the latest. I had a double of my little stag B.R. Hughes winner and a double of my dagger they still have to put together. Even though they take pictures of the award winners, they want you to pay to have your own prints and digital files.

Thanks for the info John - and congrats on your awards! Post up those Point Seven pics for us to drool over when you get them.
