just got back from spending five days on the lower gorge of the salmon river. Hest was waiting for me on the porch, ripped it open and tied it upside down on my belt. Pulled it out to use it to cut some tape while unlloading the truck stacked 5 rafts tall and caught it wrong, now I have 4 stitches on my left middle finger. Overall awesome trip I'll give you the detailed version after dinner-pics to come!

:rolleyes:On the positive side, now that it has tasted your blood, I think you qualify as "blood brothers.":)

Should be safe to carry around now.

Expecting mine on Friday ...

lol, i have 1200 river pictures to get on my computer and upload... plus my finger picture... my camera got submerged a dozen times, dropped in sand, constantly splashed, and it's still cranking out pictures. She's gonna take some lovin from now on though...

ok thanks for being patient, I uploaded 250 pics on facebook-gotta get some on photobucket, should have some up within minutes.

amazingly actually. 4 stitches, they had to re-open it and stuff the pinched artery back in, but to be honest it doesn't bug me in the slightest. Minimal pain, full mobility and no nerve damage-i got super lucky. Just wish I had a pic of the guts, rinsing it out I could see all the fat and muscles and tendons and bone. oh yeah, stitches will be out in a week... how sweet is that? The doc-in-the-box did a great job.

Are the first two pics the cut? If so it doesn't look too bad, I have seen worse looking cuts in my last job than that. Do you have pics of the pinched artery? That would be sweet.

ya, you're lookin at em-that red blob at the top of the cut, the artery got pinched and bubbled up on the outside. I tried to wash it off and poke it but it felt kinda like a balloon and figured I'd let the docs deal with it-glad I did. I'll get pics of the knife and stitches up later today maybe.
