Just a tip, just because it's safety orange, doesn't mean it's safe.

It went to bone, and netted me 3 stitches.

I won't name the knife because this was partly due to my negligence, and partly due to lock failure.
Waiting for a response from the manufacturer about getting it looked at, but I know some of you guys like to see lessons learned!

I got bit by one of mine last Friday. I stabbed my hand... not sure how deep it went but there are 5 stitches in there. Strange thing was, it never really hurt... probably a clean cut (or stab).

I was putting force on the blade (lateral and vertical, by hand) after re-assembly to make sure I had everything right, and I folded it shut without manipulating the lock.

Like I said, mainly my stupidity, but I figure I shouldn't be able to make a lock fail by hand. (I'm not the hulk! It wasn't a spine whack or anything as I don't see that as a valid test. Though after this happened I did give it a light one and it folded)

It didn't really hurt until they irrigated it, now it just aches. I did get blood all over the kitchen floor though!

Yeah these types of cuts bleed way more profusely than you would expect. Last time I got bit its was a huge mess.

I'm going to ASSUME that it wasn't a Spyderco PM2. Those compression locks are pretty fool-proof.

I've had a rough year.
I got bit by my Sebbie on the top of my thumb, and took a chuck out of my ring ringer with my Kershaw Breakout. (my fingers are too chunky for that thin handle =D)

Its ok, everyone I know thats into knives gets bit from time to time, i nicked a tendon on my last little adventure and still have a little nerve damage its on my left pinky and i could probably still pick up the piano but i still get weird sensations in the scar tissue that shoot up the length of the finger. AS long as you dont bisect a tendon tho it usually ends up a-ok. If your not getting bit, your not loving them enough :)

Maybe you should not use balisongs, or on the flip side maybe you should as when that knife is open it cant close on you.

Comes with the territory. I dont think any knife user has never cut himself
Thats how we all learn

I have my fair share of stupidity scars as well :D
