Here is a pic of what I did to my SNG. The photo is crappy, because I only have a camera phone right now. It took quite a bit of elbow grease to get er' done. Now it is nice a shiney. I didn't finish the clip yet, but that will be soon.

Wow, that's a new approach! Removing all that fancy flame anodizing! Don't see that too often! Bet you wished you owned a disc grinder, eh? :D From what I can see you did a decent job. Beadblast it and it'd look really cool and be grippier, too.

Aren't those handles titanium? I thought sanding titanium is dangerous as the dust is very bad for you. Did you wear any protection? Not sure if sanding by hand is a concern, or if it's only if you are using some kind of power sander like a belt sander. Don't want to see any forum members do themselves harm. :)

looks good...what all did you use?
I started by taking the entire knife apart (duhhh), then I used 220 grit paper. After that I used 400 grit paper, and then a super eraser, which for those of you who don't know is a square eraser with some fine grit inside it. I used the eraser to clean up any scratches, and polish the whole thing up. It came out very nice. As far as prtective equipment, I didn't use any. I washed my hands very well though between stages. I also did all the sanding inside a cardboard box top, to keep the dust in one place. I love the way it turned out. I know how cool SNG's and SMF's look with the flame striping, but I wanted mine to be unique. I have seen what other guys are doing, and I was out to be different. I think it all came out nice. I don't know bout' bead blasting it. Maybe later on.

Titanium has lots of vanadium and aluminum, both of which are excellent for you, particularly when inhaled in dust form! For future reference, just wet sand. Titanium won't rust, and wet-dry sandpaper works better when wet, anyway, so you can kill two birds with one stone.

LOL, so should I go fire up my grinder and put my Sebenza handle to it and start taking deep breaths? :) Hopefully USAFSP didn't breath in any dust.

If he did he'll be dead by the end of the week, so it's a little late now. Sorry, USAFSP! Can I have your knife when you're gone?

Yeah Chiro that is a deal. :D Oh my head hurts now :barf:  :barf:

Just kidding :D
