Apologies to the mods for this non knife-related post. My Facebook account - which had been deactivated for some time - got hacked, reactivated and everyone on my friends list (a lot of you good people) got spammed with a bogus invite to some group or other.

It is totally bogus - my apologies to all.

And now some knife-related content - teaser pic of a piece inbound to Paul:

Any guesses?

Roger

I like the transition from twist pattern in the bolster to ladder pattern in blade. Lin

Integral bolster, full tang...looks like Burt?

That's one tight ladder, Roger. Ground in and reforged?

Yeah, I was wondering why I needed a free Ipad;):D

Really nice ladder pattern. There aren't that many that do integral forged knives. I'm not sure if it's Burt Foster, the "guard" looks a bit different, but I can't think of anyone else.

I've seen that mottled blue background on some WIP thread. Hmmmmm.... :)

Hey, why didn't I get the invite? Oh, maybe because I haven't checked my Facebook page in three weeks... ?? ;) I still don't get facebook. I go to my home page and it's all about everyone else. Huh?

Good eye Lin on the transition from twist to ladder.

The Burt Foster guesses were good..... but incorrect.

Jon nails the Russ Andrews answer, though I suspect that Coop had it figured, too. I also figure he'll select a different background when he shoots it. ;)

Cool knife, Roger. But does this mean that you are not giving away free iPads? Bummer!!!;)

It's Russ we are talking about so more likely filed in for many, many hours using small files. Slighty crazy, but the results speak for themselves.:D

I got your invitation Roger. Now I dont feel so bad about deleting it.

Cool damascus on this one.

What.....no free I-pad..?

The blade was brought almost to shape...the edge around 3/16 or so, then
the pattern was filed in.....Then forged the rest of the way by hand.....

Facebook makes it difficult to delete your account. I thought that a deactivation was essentially a deletion.
Not the case.
Google something like How to Permanently Delete a Facebook Account if you're interested in severing the FB bond.

Nice lookin' blade, BTW.

That's an "Andrews tight" ladder.
Ladder is the most underapreciated pattern.

Dunno bout that. Its one of my favorites. Maybe there is less hype because its not the new crazy mosaic but I think nothing beats a good ladder pattern.

great piece and I do not do facebook so I guess I am safe

Wow .. I missed all the fun! On my side of the world it's the sleeping time. Now is the very early part of the morning and I'm getting myself ready to office. Anyhow on quick read ..

.. teaser pic of a piece inbound to Paul ..
Roger, I know that the knifemaker is not Burt because Burt makes sheath for his blade :p Anyhow I don't have Russ Andrews' name in my head. In fact I'm thinking about Ron Newton and Bailey Bradshaw!

It sure is a sweet integral blade and IMHO it's going be finished real great with all the mamoth scales
