I just got my DT Buffalo Soldier in the mail after winning the contest a few weeks back and all I can say is THANK YOU!, THANK YOU!, and THANK YOU! to Jerry and his lovely Mrs. and all the great members of team Busse. This is a truly a beautiful blade which I will treasure forever and one day pass onto my son (but not too soon). This is my first Busse blade (certainly won't be my last) and I could not be more impressed with the fit, finish and ergonomics of this blade, it is a work of art. If you have never owned a Busse blade it takes about 2.1 seconds from the time that you pick it up to fall in love with it. I have a few other high-end blades but this is sure to become my favorite. I was unsure whether to use this blade (I plan to buy another Busse user blade after all) or to keep it pristine because it does have a great story behind it. Once I got my hands on it the debate was over - this one is a user. I plan to take it on many camping, backpacking and boating trips and to associate many more great memories with it. Once again thank you Jerry and company for this generous gift that I truly appreciate and will cherish for a long, long time.

I wish I could be the pig I was before I was me!!

Congrats on the beginning!! I have taken a couple of mine to work and even folks that aren't really knife people comment on how "It just FEELS good in your hand" The edge retention is really something to be seen :)

Congrats man. Let us know how it handles the love you're gonna show it...

POST PICS MAN!!

Thanks gents - it really is a great blade to introduce one to Busse craftsmanship and design. I promise to post picks soon (there aren't enough nice pics of this knife on the web) and will write a more in depth review in the future. My first impressions are of a very utilitarian design. So far I have found 5 very comfortable ways to hold this blade. It's got a lot of belly (it's probably a very good skinner) which keeps the blade angle changing which in turn makes it easier to cut. Choking up on it is really easy and comfortable and gives you exceptional control of the blade. The grind lines are particularly interesting. Full flat grin the entire width of the blade. The curves are very sexy and useful but I can't imagine that this is an easy blade design to grind. Jerry really needs to make this Badboy available again soon - I can see it becoming a really popular design.
