I have a 0200 and a 0302 and love the knives. Will I like this one? Do you have to put oil on the pivot?

WILL YOU LIKE IT?!? NO, you'll LOVE it!!!:thumbup::thumbup: I've said it before and I'll definately say it again, the ZT0500 is my favorite ZT folder! Not that I would kick the 0200 or 03XX out of bed, as I wouldn't, but the MUDD has just won my heart. As a matter of fact I just put up my new BM 610 Rukus and broke back out my MUDD. It has spent more time in my pocket for the past 6 to 7 weeks than my Umnumzaan, Strider AR, or Rukus, and these are all part of my current edc lineup. The MUDD pivot does not need oiling as a convential knife would. Not sure what type of lube it comes from the factory with, but I think it would be difficult to get any lube in without a needle type applicator and you would still have to get it under the urethane seals to do so. Something else I want to bring up about this knife is it's weight. Every knife site I've gone to has listed the weight at 4.8 ounces. Now I like my folders to have a bit of heft and for a knife this size, 4.8 ounces is definately on the low side, and this is what kept me from ordering one when they first became available. But eventually I did order and it did not take but pulling it from the box to realize that this was the heaviest 4.8 ounce I had ever held:eek::eek:. After putting it on a postal scale I found that it weighed around 6.6 ounces, which is fine with me! This is a do everything knife as far as I'm concerned. I love the blade style with the short clip point, and wide belly. The Hawk Lock is really simple and it works, and I mean it really works. There is no blade play at all in this lockup. I like my pivot a little tighter than most but it still is very smooth to open. Another thing I like about the lock is that it is only a short move to unlock and there is no play in the lock button and my hand has yet to come close to accidently unlocking the knife. Btw, Kershaw uses the highest grade of aluminum (7075) in building the frame of the MUDD, so it is really built to stand up to the rough and tough. Will I like the MUDD? Nope, you'll LOVE the MUDD!!:D:D:D

Thanks Cutter 17 for answering my question. Can't wait to get it!

i just recieved a mudd thru a trade and it is an awesome knife....it is big though....the only thing that's bugging me is when i open it i sort of have it in my palm and the corner of it digs into my palm cause it is so grippy....i just have to get used to opening it....it's not the easiest folder to pull out of your pocket but that is to be expected due to it's size.....i love i thtough...gonna crry it for a while and see how it is day to day.....ryan:thumbup:

you can use some sandpaper on it to get down where you like it. :) mine goes so deep in the pocket it 's sometimes hard to get out, sometimes it's a benefit. sometimes not. :D
