and I love it! The #85 pattern is by far one of the most appealing to me, I love the curves, the EO, the broad master Spear and the shield. Ohhh the shield! I don`t know about you, but the shield kinda makes or breaks a knife for me. At least for the looks. Thanks to stevenkelby who sold it to me, and modified the cap lifter. It got super fast here in very good packaging all the way from Australia.

Now I gotta wait until the "new shiny" wears off so I can use it, but I`m already fondeling it every second or so. One thing that could have been better are the sharp egdes from the tang when the knife is closed, but that should be fixable with some fine sanding.

Now for the pictures.

You can`t see that the caplifter has been modified. Steven did a great job!

Love the color of the bone. Should it be carried this way in the pouch...

or this? Widest side towards the opening, or the bottom?

I`ve been drooling over this knife ever since I first saw it, and I kicked myself for not getting one last year.

Today has been a good day!

Congrats! IMHO, one of the best forum knives that has been done here.

It is beyond me why GEC doesn't do this blade combination more often. I'd go for a white owl with that blade combo.

Once you "knock the shiny off" it just looks better and better. It is one of my favorite traditionals I own. Mostly because it's the first real quality I've invested in, but it really is a great set-up, at least for me. The other quality knife is the 2007 Bladeforums traditional.

Congratz to that great looking knife!

I´m also wondering a little why GEC doesn´t make this setup more often. A caplifter/screwdriver is a very useful too. (Don´t forget getting thirsty is worse than getting hungry - but with this beauty youn don´t need to think about that - slicing some good smoked pork and opening a beer ;) :D )

Kind regards
Andi

I agree Andi, very useful. I already used it to tighten a doorknob and to open a bottle of slovenian Cockta (the soda).

Way to go Lars!!!!
Glad to see that you finally found one, they look awesome.

I'm hunting one for myself now.

These are great knives. I wish I'd got two. Every time I see one in the for sale area its sold before I see it. You got a super cool knife!

I've been really pleased with mine: fine build and nice pattern. The artwork on the tube was very well done too. Never had a problem with the bottle opener, must be The Hand of Experience...a lot of beers and ciders have lost their heads due to this pattern :D:thumbup: Fixed up a light in the kitchen with the screwdriver end only yesterday! Just ordered its cousin, the 85 EZ-Open single blade in stag.

Thanks, Will

congrats! that knife has now been very well traveled!

best

That's awesome! I just got my 2011 blade forum knife from forum member comoha. I will be getting some pics up as well.

I like that case. I am thinking of picking one up to compliment the knife and keep it looking fresh. At least for a little while anyway.

I use the pouch so the knife doesnt slip out of my pocket, and so it doesnt roll in it as well. The added benefit is that it keeps it fresh. I got it from a knife company in the northwest for a nice price. ;)

Thanks all, first day at work with it went great. It handled any task without complaining, and even broke down a couple of boxes. What a great pocket knife this is.
