I was itching to fieed my need for a new Sebenza the other day. I sold two Krein tuned Emerson folders so I had some loot. I could not find any interesting Sebs on the forums so I looked to my favorite internet dealers. I decided to go with the Large Sebenza 21. Prices were all close. so I went with the KnifeCenter of the Internet. I usually drive there and pic up orders-they are 30 minutes from the job. I was off work Friday to wait for an electrician so I had it shipped. I went out to snag some breakfast at Dunkin Donuts-and it was waiting for me when I got back! The knifecenter is cool too, they have nice promos. The promo this time was a mini Buck folder, a sharpener, and free ground shipping(which is next day for me). I opened my box with lots of xcitment and anticioation. I could not imagine how CRK could improve upon this icon. Well they did!
The first thing that I noticed was the improved action. I used to haveto disasemble my Sebs and lightly hand polish the washers to get this action. It is like oiled glass!
Next is the edge profile. It seems as though it is a bit thinner than before. I used to reprofile on the sharpmaker-no need. I still gave it a few swipes to give it a more agressive edge though
Next was the melting of the corners. I love the feel of it with its' nice smooth edges. It kind of reminds me of the melt down that Matt Cuchiara used to put on the Sebs-not as extreme but a very nice subtle feature.
The improvements are subtle and have to be seen in person to appreciated.
I found out that my knife is the one on the Knifecenters ad for the Seb 21. It is a STAR
Here is the site pic of my knife; I will add a few pics of my own as well.
