I got my balisong just now!!!!

i got my balisongs today, 2 black jags and a black diamond. i cant flip em open yet. i havent been cut yet either. the black diamond has a nicer feel to it then the jag, it feels so thin and lite, and the jag is big hunck chunky and heavy, but the blade on it is soooo thick. one of jags has un-even handles. both the jags are hard to close it with the latches. damn, those latches realy piss me off, there like point less. should i remove them?? manipulating is not as easy as i thought. im gonna buy a folding knife next, then a bm 42. you guys know of a good (cheap) folder?? i want a lock blade(of course). i was thinkin of one of the ones from kifezilla (damn they're cheap!!) i know that the best folder is a bm 710. i need to practice!!!
 
Congrats ThreePeriods! It will become addicting in no time at all! But even though the edges seem dull, you should still tape the edge to prevent injury. BUT make sure that the tape doesn't go up too high, just enough to cover the edge, too high and the tape will make the blade stick inside the handle.

Just start practicing and you'll start picking it up quickly. As to the latch thing you take off the latch on one jag and leave it on the other. But personally I would leave it on as it helps early on in the training with telling the "safe" handle from the bite. Damn useful.;)
 
Latch do not always help if you don't pay attention though..:o I was playing with my web cam the other night trying to make a vid and I got a nice one of me cutting my finger doing a finger twirl with the bite handle... oops, we hate that!:mad: oh well, good luck to you ThreeDot!
 
must... stay... up..., have... to... pracice..., i got my opening and closing whindmill thing down, i got the riochet down, now i need to to learn how to open to an ice pick grip. i cut myself twice on the knuckle. i dont like the tape idea, it makes the shiny blade look ugly. at first i was thinking, damn, the diamond is better than the jag!, but now the diamond almost feels to lite and thin, and the blade sucks. im starting to hate that pinch you get when you try to close it.(dont tell anyone, but really i only ordered 1 jag and 1 diamond, but i got two jags! and i didnt have to pay for it!!!, i love knifezilla...) damn, to many knives so little time. i'll keep you informed on how im progressing.

thats right, im pretty damn lucky, all of you suck!!!!!! aghhhhh!!! :>() j/k, im physco, are i not?? yeah, im one step a head of you. i have the ability to learn everything there is to know about something. ive seen every site there is to see, ive seen every movie there is to watch. what would be a useful skill to learn?? should i buy a bali off of ebay?? i leave you to ponder upon the dreams that drive us. (?? ive been watching the matrix a little too much...)

Tony, you just proved what others says about you being technically (engineering) are true!

By the way, I was sort of out of the forum for 4 months and people are saying your presence and replies add much knowledge to us here. Do you keep a compilation of your knowledge?;)

Does a Jag flips the same as a BM239 (weight/balance)? Tightness and smoothness might not be the same, but I suspect the two aspecs are.
In that light, does BM42 weight/balance similar to BM239 with its zamak?
