hi everyone! been giddy (lol) all day long, got my crawford casper custom today
- have been carrying my brotther in laws w/micarta handles, but he wanted it back :<(( anyway i traded 2 knives and $$ to a fellow forumite for my Ti handled bead blast kasper folder - and man its a beauty - looks just as described, about 98%, a few minor scuffs on handle (they get scratched anyway) otherwise great, plus some free pocket lint
- i tell ya that CRKT kasper is PRETTY darned close - handle profile is virtually the same, custom is thinner of course, and the action on the custom, just sounds different when ya shut it - an authoritative 'snick' compared to the CRKT kinda click clacking shut, when ya compare the 2 sisde by side - and no dis to CRKT, like i said its pretty damned close for $50, and 1 heckuva knife imho - but of course the custom is head and shoulders above it in quality, fitting, action, liner lock and on and on - and talk about an edge - it is scary sharp - it is also lighter than the CRKT by pretty much, no scale handy, but i would say it would weigh in at 4-5 oz, vs the 7+ for the crkt - only complaint is the belt clip is really stiff/tight, and kinda hard to clip it to your pants, etc but i can live w/that - any of you guys that have a seb know what i mean about the action - the crawford is imho VERY similar in locking - same bank vault shutting sound like a vintage mercedes or porsche door closing vs a dodge dart or ford mustang door - just very well made imho -do i sound happy? well this is gonna be my EDC for at least the foreseeable future, my SIFU is gonna get a rest - will carry the crawford custom and a BM mini AFCK as a utility knife (might carry my seb, would be a classy combo imho, wouldnt it?? i might just put some wear on that seb, havent ever carried it, and ya only live once, right?)or maybe the SIFU, kasper and my matriarch - ready for anything lol- but am just happy as can be - 6 months ago was perfectly happy w/my spydie delica and CS voyager large mod- now have MT,BM,Emerson, REKAT,MOD, this forum has cost me some $$ - but well spent, and i've had a lot of fun too - well will write a thorough review of the crawford in a few days once we get to know 1 another - please excuse me for going on and on, but have wanted 1 of these of my own for a while
..best wishes to all,
