Just like the title says, I got my ESEE today. I'm really impressed with its quality. I would like to thank ESEE for making such an excellent knife. Having said that, I do have a few questions. See below.

* Will canola oil be a good rust preventer?

* Since the room I'm going to store it in can become slightly humid, should I do anything specific when I store it?

* What is your favorite easy-to-use knife sharpener?

* What method(s) should I use to carry it when in the wilderness?

* I'm most likely going to buy a custom sheath for it later on. Which company do you recommend I purchase from?

* Which oils can I use that are food safe?

* Is storing the knife in its sheath a bad idea?

Thanks to all who reply!

what model did you end up getting?

and for long term storage i would use tuf glide/cloth

and a tek lok for carrying it, or a paracord belt loop.

Well... I have an Izula that I carry in the factory sheath with a large Tek-Lok (left side, horizontal for a RH crossdraw). I use a Sharpmaker on it to keep it sharp and I have used plain old Mineral Oil on knives that are going to be used for food prep. Seems to work fine.

I sharpen my Izula at the 40 deg Sharpmaker setting. Keeps a shaving edge on it and still makes for a pretty long lasting edge.
