benchmade yesterday...im normally a spyderco, cold steel, zero tolerance guy but I'm Digging this griptilian. I like the axis lock seems to me its pretty damn strong. I heard the omega springs are not stainless... So they rust and snap what is you all's experiences with it???????

I've carried my Benchmades on several landscaping jobs and volunteer camping events and have never experienced any problems with rust, breakages, or clogs to the Axis lock. In my experience, it only gets smoother and more refined with use.

I'm carrying my 720 right now, purchased in 2000. It was my only knife and daily carried for 9 years straight. It has not been abused, but it also has not been babied. I have never had a problem with Omega springs, or any other aspect of it. I have Griptilians as well, one of them used in a corrosive environment for a brief period, and I have never had any problem with any part of the AXIS lock or the knives overall.

I've never had a spring snap.
My dad---who has many AXIS knives---has never had a spring snap.
I have never known of a person (other than claims on the internet) who has had a spring snap.

I have about 5 or 6 axis lock knives, including one that has been carried and used heavily. They are the epitome of good to go.

Yup, Omegas have been flawless for me too and I cycle my knives often.

I believe the people that say that their spring(s) broke, but I believe it's a rare occurance and I've never seen it in person.
