Very cool Mike..Thanks..great pictures of the GUNTING & DRONE....
Ok now all of you can see some great shots of the GUNTING....
I look forward to doing a seminar for Blade Forums on the GUNTING....

Mike,

Nice looking knife, but where is the rest of the blade?.

.

(Isn't it supposed to be a "fighting knife"?).

I can understand that the Gunting's clip was designed for accesibility and not deep carry, but that clip placement is a bit much! It looks like half of the knife is hanging outside of the pocket. It seems like it is too noticeable and that it would be very easy to lose.

Hey Mike! When can we buy these things. I thought they would be out by now.

And God said,"Let there be light," and there was light Genesis 1:3

Most of the knife rides inside your pocket..the spoon clip keeps it inside...
Its "gottobe" ( to Quote Jimmy Tacosa..
smile.gif
)
cause one neads to engage the head to tomahawk your way out..."BAM!"
If it sits uncomfortably for you try one of the breakaway Kydex holsters from SKUNKWORKS.
3 3/4 inches or so ride inside...1 1/2 ride out...
As for it being a "fighting knife" its not..( by the way WHO is that Glockguy9999.. whatever..hmmm ROFL! How are you doing!?)is it a tactical folder? yes..is it a MBC-Martial Blade Craft knife ? yes..
is it a very cool matter seperator? yes...
at just three inches of blade length can it still slice n dice? you bet..
The CPM440V blade really holds an edge...
And its definately SPYDERCO SHARP!.....
Great job SPYDIE!!! I'm HAPPY!

Dang, and ALL THIS TIME, I had THOUGHT that the Gunting WAS developed to be a "Fighting Knife"...

.

...I guess I'll have to stick with my little ol' Cold Steel 9 inch Magnum Tanto, as MY "Fighting Knife"...

See you guys spend too much time in the wilderness..yup thats it..Where be yer PC..??
hola...Dann how be you?
Hi to Datu!!!!
fighting knife?..yeah..with its little itty bitty blade?sure..right...couldn't hurt a flea with a GUNTING....
now GLOCKTING..thats a different matter

Gads...Great secondary pictures Mike!..the Logo shot is killer and so is the "lock" shot...
Hmm you might think you do this for a profession....
How about a reverse grip shot?..HMMMMMMM?

Ok heres the great pics of the knife..
its got: G10 handles, 3" CPM440V steel blade, compression lock, spoon clip, indexing point, sharp horns, color coded Kydex holsters, functional trainer DRONE, as well as CRMIPT_Close Range Medium Impact Tool...
Its one of the MBC Martial Blade Craft knives and designed to be used closed...
And yes its now available WITH all four video tapes!! and Aluminum trainers from Edges2...( one open- one closed.)

Why did I post this? cause the NEW people keep asking WHAT'S a GUNTING...

Its not really that low..it seems that way.2/3 -3/4 of the knife actually resides in ones pocket. It leaves the head exposed for immediate accessability..for using it closed..Tomahawking with the ramp.
The ramp must clear the pocket or one gets the immediate open response: pull and the blade is engaged defeating the purpose of the GUNTING: an impact tool that escalates into an edged tool.
The clip is also very broad with a spoon in it that matches to the indexing point for twirling or spinning from forward to reverse grip and back again.

That's a damn ugly knife & that huge guard is going to severly limit the penetration of an already short blade.

AR15,
the GUNTING is not supposed to be nice looking and its primery intent is to use it as an impact weapon and if the incident require a good slicing, the fighting Bram teaches is primeraly inclined for cutting not stabbing.
i hope it helps.
scorpio.[a fan of M-16]!!!

Bram,

Thanks for the clarification. Did you consider making it with a black clip? Were there manufacturing problems with this option?

By the way, it is a very interesting design and I love the fact that it comes with a trainer.

So looking at the lock photo, the compression lock looks like a liner lock..

Do you disengage it by squeezing the handle at the depression, or do you flick the "liner" on the back of the handle?

hey Scorpio..
ahh ar15..guess you never tried it..UGLY is n the eye of the beholder..but maybe a GT car is ugly to you as well. personally I see a very cool tool..
STABBING? Penetration? the ramp stops it from what? WHY? It certainly goes deep enough...its a legal common pocket knife..three inch blade..and it slices very well thank you..
AND like no other knife, it works really well closed...
BUt you don't have to like it...
As for the lock. The dimple is an indexing point that works with the spoon clip to allow the knife to rotate safely from forward to reverse grip and back again! The lock release is on the top side away from where one can "white knuckle it"...it only looks like a liner lock. Its a new compression lock.. There's actual already a thread ( locking mechanisms)explaining this and the late Jim Mattis had shot some photos of the knife with one side removed..I'll see where they are! There's a finger that protrudes into the blade and the whole thing compresses against the rear pin...VERY VERY strong!...the more pressure against the blade the stronger it gets..
cool for ones fingers,,
plus the ugly knife is so ergonomic one can thrust all day and not slide up the handle to the blade....in either reverse or forward grip..

According to Poppa Spyder the next generation will come with black clips....YES!!
HMMM all the RECON who try it and my jar heads all like the GUNTING...The LEO community thinks its cooler than sliced bread..Security loves it...it was a big hit at SOF...but I guess you can't please them all..
"stab'em and let G*D sort'em out!"

"to be aware is to be alive!"

geee. all these great pictures of the GUNTING and Mike Turber just got to see how effective the tool actually is!!!!At the JAX seminar this past weekend!

even little taps with the aluminum trainer hurt alot..the DRONE is very serious,,and the GUNTING?? no way you want to be "tapped"...

yes..I think they are VERY beautiful..
