... and I love it. It was pretty expensive, even 2nd hand but almost pristine condition (few cosmetic scratches on blade, slighty dust inside the handles and few barely visible nicks / scratches on right side of the spine) and darn you don't get those things nativelly except by change (how I got mine). First thing I noticed is Caly 3 opens slightly tougher and slower than my Tenacious but its backlock vs linerlock in Tenacious. I don't need speedy knife so its ok (did some pivot adjustment to get ridd of very faint blade play)

Now this thing is light, very sharp, great ergonomics and its low riding :D Yeah no more protruding ends of EDC knife, this thing rides stealthy.

Overall I am really impressed by the sturdiness of lock, smoothness of opening (though there's more resistance than flippers I have)

You just have to love full flat grind and leap shaped blade of this thing. Two most significant factors why I chose this over Delica 4 ( though I will get Delica 4 later on this year )

The Caly 3 is a great knife. It was my first G10 knife FFG knife. Like you said it rides low in the pocket and it's a great slicer. Very classy knife, I'm sure you'll love it.

I liked the caly 3 g10 so much i bought the cf/zdp version. Use compressed air to blow it out and the put a dab of oil on the pivot, it should smooth out. My became gritty and i was upset but then I cleaned it out and its smoother than before.

Yeah I removed pivot screw oiled it bit and its smoother now. Still a lot friction in first 25 degrees when opening. But it opens with quite snap with approriate wrist flick ^^ Excellent knife. My first "true" (no budget China made) full sized Spyderco. I am sure to get more. Tenacious and Persistance are not bad, but VG-10 is superior and ZDP-189 is very fine too I hear.

Congratulations on your new purchase. Now that the floodgates are open get ready for a spending spree. :) Awesome choice for your first high-end Spyderco.

Yeah, I am affraid of that Flood gates are open with this budget of mine... Aslong my next purchase is not some Carbon Fiber version with CPM-M4 steel special edition I should be doing fine. I perhaps keep this year in VG-10 and ZDP-189 steels in and G-10 with FRN handles in Spyderco's and Get Delica 4 later on.
