I got my Stryker back from Benchmade and I'm not impressed.

I sent my new Stryker in for repair about 3 weeks ago because it had up and down blade play. I finally got it back Friday and I couldn't wait to start carrying it again. I picked my knife up and inspected it, I quickly noticed that the knife wasn't repaired. The paper Benchmade sent back with the knife said the knife was adjusted, the screws and Omega Springs were replaced, and it was cleaned and oiled. The form also acknowledged that the knife was indeed sent in for blade play and that the issue was resolved. The blade was also slightly off centered as well before I sent it in, and it was still off centered when I received it back, so I'm not convinced that any adjusting took place. It appears to me that my knife was oiled and sharpened then shipped back to me. The last several new Benchmades I had recently have ALL had QC issues. It appears that they are starting to slip in their customer service dept as well.
Come on Benchmade, you can do better than this :grumpy:

Annoying, but give them a call and send it back. Calmly explain what happened and they will make it right.
As great as their CS is, there are still humans doing the work.
Shit happens.

I have had nothing but awesome customer service have sent about 3 items back and got them back perfect. Once sent in a 940-1 because the laser markings were too thick and edge was uneven. They acknowledged and sent me a brand new knife. Its probably just a fluke. Like palomej said hit them up again. Like my father always said "a sweet tongue opens even steel doors". Not always easy to follow as sometimes frustration gets added to the equation.

I contacted them Monday and they got back with me today. I will give them another try, hopefully it will work out this time. When I get it back, I will let everyone know the results.

BM always took care of me and my blades. FWIW, I have a mini grip with a off-center blade. The issue is in the handle/liner, probably the screw hole locations cause a slight twist in the handle. BM cannot fix that but they always attempt a slight adjustment each time I send it in. I've sent this one to them many times, it's super convenient when the blade is serrated.

The gentleman that e mailed me back said they would do a detailed assessment of my knife to find and fix the problem.
