It is my Christmas present (My wife gets coches)

I planned on getting the 4 inch service model but was encourgeged to go big, so I went with the 5 inch tactical Barel for better velosity and better sighting and what is one inch more of slide to pack

Who has one?

Best ammo for range and the sand pit, What do you feed yours?

Any "must have" acessories?

Try a range of ammo brands just to test the weapon. Let us know what you think after 500 rounds through it. I'd be interested in how this carries compared to a 1911. My guess is you'll be very happy with your new toy.

Congrats on your XD-45tac. I will be buying one of these, hopefully before the Democraps outlaw hi-cap mags. I hope to get the bi-tone model, it's just looks way too cool. I've seen the brown model, and it's not too bad. Never seen the green ones. I have had an extensive range session with a rented XD-45tac and came away very impressed. It was very satisfying to pull the trigger 14 times in a row without a mag change in the middle.

Now, how bout posting a pic of that bad boy?

I do plan on posting my $0.02 when I get it, but I only did the paper work and money part on saturday, I should get it by the end of this week. It takes longer to do it the legal way, why is that?
 
i havent shot one, but the feel great and i have heard nothing but good things about them. when springfield bought the rights to market the gun, i read they made quite a few improvements re: quality control and such.

This is why I love VA. I go to the gunshop, fill out forms, they call it in, I pay for my gun, and I am out with my new toy in less than 30 minutes. My new X-mas present was a Glock 17. Of course, it now has to sit in the closet until X-mas....but it's there!
 
XD .45 is awesome...I would recommend the same thing - run several different ammo brands through it... I also like my XD 9mm...
 
I've been a Glock enthusiast for as long as they've been available, but I tried a friend's XD 45 and immediately ordered a Tactical. A week or so later I ordered a Compact to go with it. I really like these XD's.
