King Deluxe 1000. Good, bad, ugly? Do I need to soak it for awhile before I use it?

It's decent... I soak it "till the bubbles stop"... and add water during use.

Good stone, will need to be flattened a lot but does everything a 1k should.

It will do best with carbon steels and can lack a little aggression on stainless steels but still does decent. It will do ok on some higher alloy steels but it really struggles so I wouldn't recommend using it for such tasks.
