Actually I was struck three times :D

Found these NOS, Artist Series 175s at a local gunshop on Saturday. Best guess is they'd been in the display case since 2000. I seldom see posts about this model and to be honest it's not really the style of Buck I'm normally drawn to but the price was quite nice and they fell good in the hand. Of the three the deer is my favorite. Anyone else have or collect the Buck Lightning?

Only if you tell us what you paid for them, ha ha.
Is that some gator skin you got there?

It's plain leather stamped to look like gator. I paid a little over $40 each which I thought was pretty decent. Maybe not a "steal" but don't think I got took either.

Great find. I collect this series, there are more than you think. I count 26 different wildlife scenes and about 10 different handle colors plus some LE's such as the Indian Motorcycle logo. Have not got them all yet but always looking. Some day I need to do a family photo.

That's an interesting one with the box and all. We're these offered in different steels?

Roger, I really like your Indian one... That Black and white looks great...

BH, I like the deer one too...

Here's are some handles.....

:)

Thanks for the photos ITE. This model looks like it would pretty easy to change the scales with vinyl wraps. One of my subcontractors is a sign vendor that always has scrap vinyl left over, often with quite varied patterns. I may have to get a plain scaled model and see what I can come up with.

There are a few Buck knives I call sleepers.
The 175 and its smaller brother the 170 are a couple that I carry or have carried.
Silky smooth opening and easy to close one handed.
Some with and some without pocket clips.
Side note... its always good to back the clip screws out and put some blue locktite on them if using as EDC's.

Nice find BadH.
