I Got "The Axe Book "

I got The Axe Book by D.Cook. I was disappointed , I was hoping for more of discussion on axes instead of heating with wood. In fact the 1981 tittle was " Staying Warm With an Axe " Back in '81 I was heating my cabin with wood. I did find his opinionated comments fun, even if I didn't agree with them all. Are there other books that go deeper into axe head design ?

It's a fun read. I enjoyed it aside from all the 'old husbands tales'. He has some stuff dead wrong - too many to list. But he has a lot of stuff right.

American Axes by Henry J. Kauffman has some good information on varieties and early development of axes.
