Today I was officially hired as a per diem EMT for Chilton Memorial Hosptial in Pompton Plains. I went in a 8AM to start the process. I had paperwork to fill out and a physical as well. I was also issued my ID and car tag. I also got to meet a few of the full timers. The two I did meet seemed like straight shooters who knew their stuff. The other guy seemed a little off today so it was hard to read him properly. Looks like I'll be working with good people though. I was hoping for this job because seeing as my wife is jobless now I need to pull in some extra cash.

WOOHOO for me!!! :D

It sounds like congratulations are in order, so let me be the first. Congrats and good luck!

I'll settle for second. :D

Grats man ! Hope you enjoy your work and stay safe.

Outstanding Ken, Congrat's! Will be looking for you after my next accident. Do you prefer bleeders or crushing injuries? :p :D

Good deal!

It's been 13 years since I had to hang up my EMT shears, but I still miss it sometimes.

Have fun!

I prefer the crushers. Missing body parts don't bother me either. But the bleeders/gushers make me a bit queasy. I've been sprayed by one before and it's hard to do your job when you have someone's blood on you.

BTW, this job is secondary to my F/T gig as a firefighter.

I was just about to ask if you were throwing in the fire hose. I had hoped not. While EMTs are great, we need seasoned and experienced firemen too.

Congrats, and hope your wife finds another job, i.e. if both of you want it.
