Just received my late Christmas gift tonight, and here I am. Late Merry Christmas and early Happy New Year everyone!
I have kept myself in the production knife realm as I am fairly new to the knife world

, I think maybe it's time to look into the custom division? I absolutely love all the knives in the pic, OMG they are good. I must say I am most impressed by the Rockstead, the smoothness of the actions is just slightly better than any of the three Sebenzas that I have, and the EDC mirror that it came with. Kind of lost in deciding which path in the world of knives should I go for, so please hit me with beauties that are worth working hard for. As you may guess I am really into streamlined designs and good craftmanship, so anything that I should start eyeballing???
Happy Holidays again lovely people!

Congratulations! You have reached the point of diminishing returns.
On a custom, mechanically, you aren't going to notice a great difference.
I think there is a difference though for most folks, the extra cash might not be worth it.
For me, the custom is all about exclusivity; you got the only one.

I've never handled a Rock or Shiro so I cannot compare, but between a CRK and a Thorburn, there is a certain je ne sais quoi that distinguishes the two.
Whether or not that has value is up to you.
Most customs have only aesthetic value, except in instances like GTC or Williams who have proprietary flipping mechanisms; that's what makes them special though, non?

Lastly, the thing I like about customs is that if you desire you can actually talk the person who made your knife.
I like the fact that my knife was made by one person. The attention to detail shows.
In the end, it's hard to justify going four digits for a knife, but I think it's worth it.

btw as an artist I see the intrinsic value of all things handmade
perhaps that's part of the it of customs
YMMV

Thank you for your amazing reply. I definitely feel everything you talked about from my 10 years of fountain pen collection experience. There is just more warmth in handmade pieces, and I think that is going to be an amazing and expensive journey.

Welcome to the "Brotherhood of All Things Pointy"!
And it never stops: you will always see "just one more"...
Enjoy the ride!
(EXCELLENT choices!)

You are definitely flying in rarified air; very nice collection! Hard to improve on what you have, but Koenig, Holt, Spartan and even some of the more "elegant" Medfords (Slim Midi) might fit the bill.

Koenig, Shirogorov , Cheburkov , Curtiss, SharpByDesign, Trevor Burger, Johann Van Deventer (JD), Wehr, Arno Bernard...

There's plenty more but this should be a good start.
