HEY! :)

That is one fine looking knife. I really like the older look. No don't you are proud of it as you should be. Nice photo's too.

Pa Knives (no wonder I like it) Wish I had an orginal like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been eyeing those myself. Nice knife, definately moved it up a notch on my "to get soon" list.

Absolutely beautiful. I have been thinking of getting one. Let us know how that D-2 sharpens up--some say it's hard to do, others say easy.

The Schatt & Morgan's aren't D2, this one is ATS-34, I have had one for about 3 months myself. I also have several Queen D2's and once you get the hang of it, D2 OK to sharpen and is holds it's edge a LOOOONNGGG time.

I hated sharpening it at first, but it has become one of my favorite steels now.

Sorry, my mistake. I found the knife on the Cumberland web site. How is the ATS-34? Is it like D-2 as far as sharpening and holding an edge?

I honestly can't tell you, I haven't had to sharpen my ATS-34 yet!

TLC is right! Love that D~2 as well. The Dozier knives have the best heat treat in D~2 out of all the knives I have used. Queen's D~2 runs a very close second though.

I have also just received a S&M two blade Barlow model in old Winterbottom bone (sorry for the crappy pic) which I believe is also ATS-34. I have not used it yet, but plan to very soon.

Caine,
That is absolutely gorgeous!
I've been eying that exact knife for a long time.
How does it fit in the pocket?
Or do you use a pouch?
Lenny

That is a beauty. You guys are starting to get me interested in slipjoints.

Many applause on your new blade and excellent photography.

Now go out and do some work and get that nice shiny new blade all scratched up .

Hmmm..... Hmmm......... That S&M is a lock back!

Go for it, Geode. Slippies have a nice "gentlemanly" character about them. Every time I use one it reminds me of my childhood hanging out around farm ponds, rivers and timbers - much too infrequent now-a-days.

Every once in a great while someone post good pictures of a really beautiful knife on the forums and it makes me want to immediately order one. This is one of those times. Great photos!

Great pics, great knife! Did it come with the lanyard or did you add that particularly nice touch yourself? :)

I find that the D2 on Queen slipjoints is more difficult to sharpen than the ATS-34 on the Schatt & Morgans. It also holds its edge much longer. It is rumored to be not quite as "stainless", but I wouldn't know because I am a bit of a fanatic about that and keep my knioves well oiled. Anyway, both steels are great. the difficulty in sharpening D2 can be overcome with practice, with a Sharpmaker, or both.
;)
