I got to handle a Mnandi Yesterday. Cool knife!

I had to go to Raleigh yesterday and decided to stop by Beck's Cutlery (as I always do when I'm in the area). I went in to see if they had the new Mnandi. I didn't see one in the display case but they had one small NICA tanto, 2 large NICA tantos, and a couple of Umfaans (one was very neat and had a sun on it). Anyway, I asked Patsy (nice lady by the way and very helpful) if they had any Mnandis. She said they had one but it was on hold. She asked me if I wanted to look at it and I very happily said yes! She went in the back and got it and I was surprised to see it was number 007. That little knife was so cool, I can't wait to get one. After looking at it I told her that if the other guy didn't come through to give me a call. I sure hope he doesn't get it but if he has looked at it I am pretty sure he will. If you are ever in the area (Cary, NC) I highly recommend going by Beck's. They have the most knives in the area and they are very informative.

Hi NC,

I got my Mnandi a week or so ago and really like it, I'm wearing it as we speak (along with my new TNT Hawkbill ).

I have been wanting to add a large NICA Tanto to my collection for a while, do you have the phone number for Beck's that you could e-mail to me? Were both of the large NICA's NIB?

Well, Patsy at Beck's called yesterday and told me the 007 Mnandi was available so off to Cary I went today during my lunch hour. I am now carrying it in my watch pocket in a WH clipcase. I love this knife

Do you know anymore about the "on hold" story. Was it an order, or had someone seen it and was thinking about it? In other words did they know the number? I could see waiting because of the bucks necessary for purchase, but if one knew it was # 007 !!!

Now you are already for next year....new James Bond flic coming out w/ Pierce Brosnan.

What is the wood? ...and lastly be careful I just read a post (link below) where some people lost their knives out of those slip cases ....of course if you are coming over and sit on my sofa, just ignore this last little warning, and don't read the thread for details.
