Wood handles, that is...

and they were attached to a 152OT!

Some of you saw my request to do a trade for a 152OT a while back. Well a couple fine fellows stepped up to the plate.

Today I received this from Dale:

Unfortunately, my picture-taking abilities at work are not good, so the pic does not due the knife justice. Here is another pic. The one in the center is the knife in question:

The handle material is Kingwood, which Dale tells me is no longer available. He also did a nice dye job on the sheath to match the handles.

Don't ya think he does nice work??

I do! Thanks again for the trade.

Thanks guys, now I have to find one of the fingergrooved 152s to go with my FG LB7s.Oh well I have 24 152s one more won't hurt.Arnold

Glad you like it Glenn. It was my pleasure to trade with you. I am thrilled with my near pristine 896K and 758 gent's knife.

Thanks again Glenn for your generous trade.

Dale

very nice, i'm not really a fan of finger grooves but that looks really nice. later, ahgar

Very nice work, it looks like Dale has been sharpening up his skills. I also like the deep grain in that Kingwood.

I'd also like to thank Michael, for coming through with a trade for a standard "broken-in" factory 152OT. It was just what I was looking for, and can't wait to put it to some use.

Don't worry, boys. I still love the folders more than the fixed. (Sorry, Codg, but that's where my heart is)

I won't bore you with a pic, you've seen one of these before.

Anyway, again, thanks for the trade...

Glenn

In this case it's Ebony on the only two blanks from this casting known to exist.

One of these blanks came from LT. The whereabouts of the other 498 blanks is not known, and it is believed they were sold for scrap at the demise of Schrade.

To the best of my information and belief, the series never made it past the stage of having the blanks cast, no prototype was made, and no "custom shop" knives were made.

I was going to have these two engraved but the hardness (RC62) of the bolsters made it impossible. These are cast integral knives, OAL 8 1/2" with a 3 3/4" blade. As mentioned, Ebony handles on this matched pair.

Del; Is this the same profile as the SDH 1? I liked it the best of all the SDH's because it was more slender over all. These two certainly look elegant with their "Tux" coat on.

Good god, those are nice!

You must have the custom sheaths that go with those, right?

Nice pieces...
