I gotta ask, Cera coating

Lots of great looking blades in the upcoming ganza. But I'm curious about the handle material on the ceracoated knives. Safe to assume micarta?

I am also curious about this as well as how these cerakoted handles feel in hand.

Canvas micarta has plenty of texture, I don't know how well the g10 would bond with the cerakote.
Sharkzilla has canvas micarta handles and feels just fine, almost gives them the feel of coarse black paper micarta if such a thing existed, but it doesn't change the feel much and works very well.

It does shed water faster though!

The ceracoated knives that were offered at Blade were all micarta from what I can recall..

I'm pretty sure from what I heard at blade they were canvas McCarta and not g10. Playing with the idea of stripping my arctic ghost sfno just to see how easy the cerecoat comes off and what's underneath. I do like the rough feel of cerecoat on canvas handle

Great question. I was also thinking about that coating and if good old chemical stripper will take it off? Does anyone know?

My stripped mountainmandu has black canvas micarta on it.. mye favourite.....

I have several and I would guess that they are micarta. The cerakote treatment definitely gives them a different feel, they are a little more harsh on the hands than standard micarta. I am thinking about hand sanding a SFNO to see what I end up with.

is steel under the tang cerakoted? i'm a big fan of cerakoted knives but not the handle. it comes off as they didn't wan to put the effort of cerakoting the blade and putting a handle material. and i have questions regarding their process of coating. if done right, it shouldn't come off easily like the picture above.

That does look like the finish came off easily. Hopefully I'll find out soon enough on my own.

My cerakoted AR mags (aluminum and Pmag) have the finish start to wear off in the high areas after 10 insertions and drops. I have a cerakoted GP100 that has the cerakote worn off in the blast ring area, but not really anywhere else. It's not the greatest, but it's inexpensive and easy to reapply.

This is what I was thinking. Wish they had done the blades then added handles after the fact. Still no info listed on the handle materials for some

I guess you can always send it back for a re-handle but it will bug me if the tang isn't coated. My guess, is the handle material is micarta.

Easy ?
There is nothing Easy about what Tim does to his knives :)
That guy beats knives like they owe him money, I know as I have been with him when he beats them. :D
