I started looking at Randall Bowies and other customs... I dont have any bowies in my collection and have been wanting some. (But with my current funds it will be in my next life)

Then I realized that I must be NUTS! I have khukris out the whazoo right here! And I can get 2-4 kuks for the price of 1 of those customs. The smallest khukris are the size of most LARGE fighting knives. Then there is the Cherokee Rose...when I get out it will be my first bowie.

Man..you gotta love this place!

You know, I don't even bother going to other knife sites (other than Ragweed). You're right: I love it here, too.

(Drool)...yeah CRAZY... but...I ...uh ....I WANT THAT BOWIE!

Of course that is a cool Kuk... what is it, a 20" chiruwa Sirupati?
That must be pretty sweet. Chiruwa altering the balance, how do you like it? I am going to need one of those too.

Maybe I will win the lottery one of these days!

That is a 21" chiruwa Sirupati. It feels good to me; but, your milage might vary. It depends on how you plan to use it. The Thorp bowie feels alot faster in hand then it looks. That long clip point really takes alot of the weight off.

If its any help, you are not the only crazy one.

I have plenty of "tactical" folders in the drawers that I never got round to using. I also have a couple of small fixed blades that make compliment a khukuri in the woods real well. Recently I have been eying the Finnish tommi puukkos as well.

Aard,

These are not mine (much to my regret) - they are pretty much out of my reach financially. The shot is of a triple set of Kellam "Tommi" Puuko handforged and differentially hardened by KP smithy which have a reputation for making the best knives in Finland. Beautiful and functional stuff... I can only dream so far. With a small "tommi" and a khukuri one should pretty be able to handle anything in the woods cutlery-wise.

Check them out and many other knives in traditional fashion (I am a big believer in traditional styles :D)
