I found this on the knifecenter website.

Description
ESIMACASA12: Imacasa Model 152 Machete
Imacasa

Imacasa Machete. 17" overall. 12" industrial grade tempered steel blade. Molded black composition handle with lanyard hole. Please note, sheath is not available for this item. Weight: 9.9 oz. Made in Mexico

Maybe sooner or later the Mexico will give us some jobs.

I don't mean to sound disrespectful, but what's your point? Imacasa machetes have always been made in Mexico, and the name reflects that (even the website is in Spanish)

I always thought Imacasa machetes were traditionally made in El Salvador, not Mexico.

"IMACASA was established in 1964 in Santa Ana, El Salvador."

Are you upset that they outsourced from El Salvador to Mexico?

I support low unemployment in Mexico.

Btw, jamal, Imacasa is outsourcing jobs - from El Salvador to Mexico. Link. [Egnar beat me to it!]

Sorry for my ignorance:o I believe your correct now that I've looked it up, I think knife center put the wrong country of origin, I've looked at a couple different sites and they've all said made in El Salvador....

Imacasa, makes the condor brand in El Salvador, I guess it is very big, so it is possible it has one in Mexico as well. Imacasa also makes a lot of gardening tools.

I am not hating on the fact that employment in Mexico is picking up, just a little disappointed that Imacasa chose to outsource to Mexico. I have a few of their machetes and all are made in El Salvador and are top quality blades. I just don't want the quality to drop being outsourced to Mexico. The part about Americans having to go to Mexico for jobs was a joke but maybe in poor taste because it might actually be a reality in the near future. Aside from that for a website to be in spanish does not mean that the company is in Mexico. Do you now that the majority of South America speaks Spanish. Basically this post was a shock to my system that a poorer country than the US such as El Salvador which makes great tools such as machetes and other farm tools saw the need to outsource their work to Mexico. I just found that intriguing, hilarious and a shame all at the same time.

Honestly I have to say knife center screwed up, if you enlarge the picture of the machete it clearly says "made in El Salvador" on the blade...http://www.knifecenter.com/item/ESIMACASA12/Imacasa-Model-152-Machete-12-inch-Industrial-Grade-Blade-Black-Composition-Handle

If you want to talk politics, outsourced jobs, economic impacts based on such get a paid subscription to the political arena and have t it. Leave GKD out of that area.

Did you know that in El Salvador they only call it Salvador and not El Salvador. Its also more proper to call them Salvadorian and not El Salvadorian.

Its like calling Americans "The Americans"

BK9 rules, peace out!

I don't outsource!
