i have no clue how to do a tip with the Sharpmaker, or any sharpening tool for that matter.

the more i sharpen it, the more it gets rounded off, and the tip is the thing i like to use the most on a knife...

some advice?

On the sharpmaker, when using the corners of the sharpening triangular rods, stop your sharpening stroke short of the tip. Otherwise, as the end of the knife passes the rod, the point of the tip rubs across the rod and is flattened.

When using the flats, you can sharpen all the way to the tip.

It's a geometry thing.

Here's a pretty good video on how to avoid blunting the tip of the knife and also how to fix it if you do blunt it

Hope this helps.
