Hey folks,
Before you read this, just so you know, you don't need to read this... I think this is more so that I can get it out rather than a plea for sympathy.. I mean, in the end, it's just stuff, but that's getting ahead of myself.
I woke up this morning and was about to go to work (I work at a knife store on the weekends and landscape during the week), and as I walked down to the underground parking lot, a rear door on my 4Runner was open... Well, I knew that couldn't be good. They broke some glass and rummaged through my vehicle, stealing some rather inconsequential things... CDs, cigars, pipes, a flashlight, and that kind of material thing... They tried to steal the rig, but did a piss poor job of it..
The one thing that they stole that gets me is an 18" AK that I keep under my seat for clearing logs and branches for when I'm offroading... It was my first HI, and it's been my trusty/trusted companion throughout the years I've had my vehicle... Just this Christmas I used it to dig my truck out of a bad situation.. To have that stolen from me pisses me off. That's about all I can say to describe how I feel about it. I'm pissed off. Pissed off about the lack of regard that these kids had for things that hold more than a material value.. I also don't feel happy about the fact that that khuk has been turned over to the streets. It sickens me to think that a well used tool could be turned into a cold weapon through the simple switch of hands... It does not sit well with me.
If I saw these kids, I would confront them. I would not have violent or malicious intent, but I sure would want to know why...
Maybe I'm just being overly melodramatic... Anyway, as I said before, I guess I just had to express this. I'll get over it, and I'll turn another khuk into a decent survival rig to toss in the truck.
Well, back to the in the end comment. It's just stuff. The people I value in my life are alive and well. Even the conversations I was able to have with people at work today were phenomenal. I met a fellow forumite which energized me quite a lot.
This was a new experience for me, and a good one to have.
