Took the wife out to a movie tonight and saw the preview for Resident Evil: Extinction.

During the preview, the lead character was shown brandishing two large broadleafed khukris ready to do battle with a horde of zombies.

Prepare for business to pick up for all khukri suppliers as every teenager in america will HAVE to have a khukri.

Dread the kukri ever becoming fashionable amongst the scrote element in Britain;
tabloids and tv would hype like mad, and then the government would ban....

Man I hate seeing the UK with it's history become what it has become.

It's a PC nightmare run amok.

And america isn't too far behind.

Unfortunately whatever the UK does we generally follow :(
You guys in the US have it real good, keep lobbying :)

It's terrible the number of decent, ordinary British people who nowadays have to give serious thought to escaping the politically-correct mess the country has been turned into - a Britain that's betrayed by the big political parties, been sold-out to corporate asset-strippers, has lost control of its own borders, and is increasingly ruled from Brussels (though to be fair to the EU, the government in London often implements its diktats in ways and to excesses that it had not intended). :(
Can only hope that enough of our Australian, NZ, Canadian and American friends will look and learn before it's too late for their countries as well.....

Oh brother!!!!!
Aussie wasn't too bad,( twenty-five or so years back ,when I lived there ) but NZ is a total write-off.I am completely dismayed at the ongoing inexorable erosion of personal freedom that this once-proud nation has been subjected to,may its perpetrators burn in Hells fire!!!
regards
Nig

I think they will go for cheap replicas, then grow up and buy some HIs:thumbup:
(at least a few of them).

But you can be sure I'll get a poster of that hot girl with khukuris :D

Hmm... they sort-of resemble that new version of the Foxy Folly...

Has there already been a "khukuris in cinema" thread?

Just now, I can also recall seeing some in Bram Stoker's Dracula, Big Trouble in Little China, and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Colosseum (probably intended to be passed off as kopis). Oh, and a brief shot of a khuk was the only point of interest for me in Courage Under Fire.

They're not khukris, but I saw indo-persian zaghnal war-picks in the movie Pitch Black.

I seem to recall seeing a khukri in one of the old Beatles movies too.

I do indeed enjoy pics of cute girls.
The more scantily dressed, the more i enjoy.
However, why would one go tactical(sic) in nylons and garters?

I should think everyone knows the khukukri must be appropriatly blessed to kill zombies properly.

In her case, it must be a Zombie detection system - if he ain't turned on, he's a... Zo....aaaaaaaaaargh.........

I was looking for a thread on this! I saw the previews as well and noticed this going by in a flash. The handles are straight off of a BDC, and the blades close to a Jange. The have chos though, so I guess they would qualify as kukri...

if you want khukuries in a movie - get Cyborg. It is an early VanDamme movie and is chock full of khukuri fighting, post-apocalyptic A-holes.

I don't know if anyone noticed, but in the trailer, the heroine flips the khukris around like they are revolvers. Yeah, right.

I just saw the TV spot for this movie. Is it just me, or does this movie look like nothing but gory action sequences butt-spliced with tough guy one-liners?
