I've not yet, and wonder if ever, gotten over my little baby Fluffy Ann. Linda asked me a couple days ago to call the Vets offices and put notice as to look for a long hair Persian type cat (like our little baby was). I told her I would most certainly do that A.S.A.P..
I still , though, think with my ass instead of my head about that. I am holding off, or trying to hold off, a bit so as not to be stupid with emotion. No one knows - and I mean no one/not even my Linda May knows my heart loss. I hold it close except for this written admission. I will do as I promised her,- I will - soon. I miss and still very much love my little white machine shop kitty.

Oh well., You guys are easy to lean on.

Roger our dog is like that. If we lost her Jeanie and I would freak. I can't bear the thought, yet statistically she only has about 10 years left... Which is not very long and doesn't bear thinking about. But that's the reality of it and it will come. Meanwhile we'll love her like you did Flufy Ann. Take heart man, you'll find another companion.

Dave,

Over the past year I have become fond of you ( in a knife making kind of way );) ;)

I do miss my little kitty (now I'm told she may have been about sixteen). SO - I still love the little baby.

Hey Dave, I think - not for positive sure without pulling the part - I found a shorted SCR. With you permission I will pull the part and test it. I will aquire a replacement by mail and, of course check for other bad parts before ordering or going after parts, or I may be able to find some locally. I checked the SCR's in place and did not bother to check one that was difficult to reach. I saw only one that made me think it was probably bad. One was out of reach without pulling the board. To be sure I must unsolder the part(s) and pull it (them) to test for sure.

Please advise but in the mean time still search for that other guy we spoke about. (advise me)

EDIT: Dave, I was telling you about how Tim Zowada advised me about heat treat. I remembered saying to you you "temper immediately upon pulling". What I should have said was " by the time you wipe the oil off the O1 it should be NO LESS THAN 125 degrees F. and temper immediately. What I am trying to say is: Don't temper at the pull temp (approx. 350 F.) but rather at a temperature ABSOLUTELY no less than but rather close to 125 F. (absolutely with no doubt ever allow the part to fall below 125 F. before temper). I have worried about clarifing this. Please believe me and try it as I describe here and the previuos part(s) on the phone.

Roger, thanks for the update on the HT process. And also please go ahead with whatever you wish to test and let me know what I owe you or need to send to get parts. Meanwhile I'll go search for that previous thread, which I have not yet done.

Spent the day building an exposure box for photo-resist stencils. :D

Roger, I am sorry to hear about Fluffy Ann. My shop is outfitted with shelves in the rafters and at the end of my bench where Spot The Bunny Slayer supervises most of my production. I've almost lost her twice this year to kidney problems. She's only five, so it doesn't look good for the long run, but she makes my shop a better place.....
Our pets are family members. When we lose one, (especialy after such a long time) its a real loss. Hang in there. Somewhere out there, there is another potential shop cat just waiting for you to find him/her.
Good Luck,
Ed Wilson

Happycat and Dave,

Thanks. Tomorrow is the day I make calls to the local Vets for 'drop offs'. I ain't going to look at nothin though that we aren't wanting because I know I'll want it no matter. If they call me with a young long hair girl cat with a pretty face I'll look at it. Tomorrow I make calls.

Oh yeah! I know how that goes! My mother had lost her Scottish Terrier (13 yrs old) to cancer. After about 5 months she asked me if I'd take her to see a couple of Scottie pups about 20 miles from home. She said she wasn't interested in getting one; just wanted to get out of the house & this was a good excuse for a ride. Needless to say, that day we drove home with her 'new' pup (I almost talked her into taking her sister, too)! Come to think of it - that happened on an April Fool's Day over 15 years ago! Good luck with your 'just looking' day! :D
