I GUESS THE WORD HAS GOTTEN OUT.

Probably too much stock still on the market, but I bet it'll change like you mentioned. I wouldn't mind getting a few more knives myself before something changes some more for the worse possibly.

Dont know it's still on ebay but some guy had a LTC kukri for $1500! I think I paid $150 for my one 6 months ago and it's like new.

Something is only worth what someone else is willing to pay... but no one in there right mind is going to pay that ;) hence, it isnt worth it!

That particular one (if I'm thinking of the same one) had been posted for 6+ months. I think he believes carbon v is worth more than platinum. Somebody may buy it now, but I'd be surprised....

Ps, I got a local guy here selling one for $200, and I gave him a hard time about that...

I see some pretty ridiculous prices on fleabay now, but they don't seem to be selling.
Interesting. I wonder if slow sales are due to it being just before xmas, and the covid economy ? I saw a few "get it whenever" pieces that I more or less wanted, evaporating from my preferred C.S. vendor. So I jumped, one last time? I was heavily focused on metal detecting for the spring, summer, fall. Because of this I missed a major C.S. shipment, and a few knives that I wanted to grab, like the 4 Max Scout, or whatever it was called. I figured that another late shipment would come in, as per usual. But it didn't happen, possibly from C.S. being sold ? I figure that I missed the boat on a few, so I grabbed a large G-10 Espada a few days ago, as a decent send off. I didn't want that same feeling when all the good stuff is gone, or jacked up to insanity prices.

I think $200 for a LTC is overpriced as it not much more than a thick machete! $150 is overpriced but I wanted it ;) .. the ATC on the other hand is worth 150-200 IMHO

Yes Xmas makes a big difference in selling(auctions are the worst like Fleabay) I have learned the hard way. Some items still sell well but most do not. I have 3 coming, Forged Hunter, 1911, SR1 Lite.

Good for you buddy. I am wondering if we are going to look back at pre C.S. company sale knives, and post? I didn't see the Trail Master issue until a few weeks ago, as I was preoccupied. I'm not that fancy, I can live with SK-5, but there are limits. I don't even mind the old AUS8. I beat the living snot out of one of my SRK's and it's fine. I just give it some swipes on my Sharpmaker and it's good to go again. There where many "send off" buys that I considered. I almost went with a 7.5 inch Master Tanto in 3v. I pulled back as I have several knives in that style and I knew that if I bought it, I would want to squirrel it. I decided that If I'm grabbing something, it will be a user. That's another reason why I didn't go XL Espada. I wanted it to fit in a pocket. I sent off for a large Espada and one more Rat1 and two. I am seriously surprised at my liking those little Rat2's, go figure.

I misspoke, the one I saw on ebay Is an HTC (that's what it's labelled as, I don't remember it in the line up, but that doesn't mean much).

My buddies is an LTC, but I'm with you, $200 is a bit high, and it's been sharpened a bit.

Edit: I've got some carbon v blanks I've been sitting on for a decade or more, nice to know I can retire early.

As soon as cold steel was sold I immediately bought another 4 max scout. At $83 there's no way I couldn't. Also picked up 2 more Srks in sk5 at $35 a pop.

I'd like an ad15 as well to go with my ad10, maybe one day.

I actually started my buying spree a couple of months before CS was sold. I had a couple CS knives many years ago, and really liked them. Just within the past few years I have started making enough extra money to buy some nice cutlery, so I started with numerous CS knives. I was able to get an unused Trail Master in Carbon V only a couple of weeks before the sale of CS.

I think in the past several months I have bought 15 Cold Steel knives, 3 of which were bought as gifts to friends and family. I still would like to buy another couple more before I start looking at other brands. I really want a Gurkha Kukri with a satin finished blade, a Laredo Bowie, another Trail Master, and a 3V Master Hunter. After that I think my Cold Steel collection will be sufficient.

The main reason I bought them though because they were $95 for all three(2NIB,LNIB).

They are idiots the sellers and anyone who buys. they are still being made in the same place nothing has changed. Its not like Schrade going out of buisness then Taylor brands buying the name and moving from the US to China.
